I’m willing to bet that anyone with negative comments about the piloting skills shown on the this video have NEVER flown a fully composite RC plane of this caliber at a difficult site like this. Anyone who’s only flown foam or balsa has no idea, especially at a site such as this. Great job.

Einfach nur BRAVO für den Piloten, das hat bestimmt Nerven gekostet, denn es muss unheimlich schwierig gewesen sein die Flughöhe einzuschätzen, obendrein noch die Flaps verstellt. Viel Geld gespart! Super Video in jeder Hinsicht und in diesem Fall finde ich die Musik angebracht, es war ein Hitchcock bis zum Ende!

Over the course of that time I have seen literally a hundred or more folks that choose to fly planes that are just a tad above their ability level, but well within their pocket book constraints. Actually, I thought that emergency landing was superb! Definitely not what I'd call a 'crash'. These super-clean carbon gliders are almost unbelievably efficient; they laugh at spoilers. You did an excellent job to bring yours down with so little damage. There were some monstrous boulders to avoid! Just one thing - I'd really rather hear the wind, wings and whistling than the music... 🙂

We used the DJI Mavic 2 Pro for all the drone shots.

Ich verwende dies seit etwa 2Jahren auf meinem Ranger 2000. 1296 auch nur, weil ich auf dieser Frequenz 1296MHz vor einigen Jahren Erde-Mond-Erde Verbindungen getätigt habe. Yes big scale models definitively need air brakes as well as flaps. I fly them having retired from full-size.

It's a great video to RC soaring from the drone. But the landing may be easier, if the flap of butterfly is set to near 90 degree, not 45 degree.

Big gliders need good airbrakes, and not a flaps with a butterfly.. But is a ethernal war within real and competition pilots. Real pilot needs real landings, and others be happy with touch the earth 😜. In other way, very good luck with the "long touch and go" Jejeje, could the pilot upside see de plane when they are go down? Or be a luck putting motor to go up and now can see them? Congratulations, you are building and flying very good gliders! Best Regards!

Incredible plane, Incredible skills, a MOST incredible save! I'm curious about the term EDF though. In my experience, this always stood for Electric Ducted Fan, but I see no evidence of that here.

Was für ein Glück, dass es nur ein Spielzeugmodell und kein echter Segelflieger war......

Die Musik ist in der Tat aufdringlich, unpassend und total übertrieben. Ansonsten interessantes Video. Aus eigener Erfahrung weiss ich, dass das Landen beim Hangflug oft eine echte Herausforderung sein kann. Hier hat der Pilot echte Nervenstärke bewiesen. Es gilt auch im Modellflug: Ruhe bewahren ! Fliege das Flugzeug !

most stupidest thing is not to have landing spoilerons on a scale glider. The normal landig flaps or butterfly is not enough on slopes on a "slope heavy" scale glider.

"You want to know what happened here?". Errrr... You crashed? There are all kinds of reasons for crashing. The point is, don't do those. What am I missing? Great flying, that was nice, but landing is more important. Don't land downwind. Terrain is second. And uphill is easier. What? I will pretend I did not see that. Please don't say it was a stall, I am going out on a limb here assuming you know how to fly...

Terrible flying, approach obviously much too fast.

Well that music is overdone and boring like hell. I mean it's just a toy not an epic battle.
