I'm personally listening to many genres but I've been falling back in love with Chillstep this winter. It's just so pure and nostalgic! The Ambientalist, MARION, Dimatis are on repeat. Jay Hifive never got the attention he deserves as a classical trained pianist and he is back to Chillstep after a 4 year hiatus because of school!

Seems like chillstep today has moved on from that classic Blackmill sound. Tracks lack depth and character.

@@supersparrow7925 A lot of those early producers have changed or stopped all together which is natural. I've been here since 2012 with ups and downs but I think my recent songs are going back to the original Blackmill-esque sound. New song up today so you'll be the judge of that if you wish. I also recommend Jay Hifive if you want quality songs 🙏🏻

@Krisu Yea, eventually artists will lose inspiration using the same styles. I think the genre is in a little slump right now, but with producers like you still around, it will definitely get better.

ITS HEREE!!!!! Oh my god i can't believe this popped up, after SO LONG! I want to thank you AE, i've been listening to your stuff and the epic chillstep collections were always my favorite. I remember discovering your channel way back in 2015, i was only 11 years old XD. I was just a kid and these mixes and all of your uploads helped me form my music tastes, and chillstep was always one of my favorite genres. Then slowly, as i aged, i branched out and discovered more music, but i always appreciated quality, and always came back to these mixes. They were here for me through all of my school years, all the thousands of hours of homework were done with your playlists in the background, and i wouldn't have it any other way. I remember being so sad when i waited for the 2021 mix and it didn't show up XD. But that's life, you have to move on. Now, in 2023, i grew up, and a lot has happened during these years. I am now an adult, and with that came responsibilities, work, university, jobs, stress, but also fun, opportunities and experiences i would've never even dreamed of! And yet, with all that in mind, i feel like i have changed a lot, both in good and bad. I am a very different person from who i was in 2015, and frankly, i've been so caught up with life, that i was starting to forget about who i was originally. In that sense i have to thank you, AE, for reminding me, and a lot of other people, to stop chasing the future and look back at your achievements every once in a while. Be proud of what you have done until now, and always try to outdo yourself! Lately i've been enjoying Barber Beats quite a lot, but i can't wait to see what this mix has in store for me. So, through my blackmill introduction, i went down the rabbit hole and found your channel one specific night i was at a buddies house. He happened to have a single hit of lsd and gave it to me then went to bed. I was up all night sitting in his recliner, headphones on listening to yoir mixes, and one particular KLRX mix. Sorted through a lot of BS in my head that night and healed some deep stuff. This was 2015, just wanted to say thanks to you for putting these together and thanks to the artists for creating such wholesome music.
