It should be repeated that A&W Canada and A&W USA are independent separate chains. They split in 1972 and have drifted further and further apart ever since. The branding is similar but everything else is different.

That is wrong. Tim's got on the poutine train late. A&W has done it for decades. Even KFC and the American chain Carl's Jr. that has come here more recently, make better poutine. McD's shouldn't do it as their fries are all wrong for it.

I remember A&W when I was a kid. The person would come to your car window to take your order. The food would be brought to your car window on a special tray that would hang on the window, and you would eat in your car. Those were the good ole days !

to be honest, I prefer to make my own poutine rather than buy it. Buy some nice McCain's potato wedges, cook them to how you like (I prefer mine a little extra crispy). I use KFC gravy, it has a really nice flavour to it and if it isn't thick enough...sometimes it isn't...you can easily thicken it up at home. Then I buy some curds from the grocery store, not all grocery stores sell them but some do. Best poutine take out is pretty much anywhere in Montreal, and if you are okay with some extra stuff in your poutine, pulled pork poutine is amazing. (again in Montreal)

  • @ryeencoke

As someone who works at an A&W in Ontario, I want to say that I am sooo happy you enjoyed the beyond burger and your experience at one of restaurants! The beyond has been EXTREMELY popular! Our supplier actually couldnt keep up in the beginning and we were sold out for a few months! Starting Dec. 2nd we are bringing out plant-based nuggets, im very very intrigued by those!!!!

At one point in Ottawa a couple of years ago, every A&W had sold out of Beyond Meat burgers for three months and an uproar ensued while citizens waited anxiously for their return. Two outlets told me that the Beyond Meat burgers were their biggest seller and could not keep up with the demand.

A&W restaurants in Canada were initially part of the American A&W restaurant chain until they were sold in 1972 and since then, have been owned and operated in Canada independently and separately from A&W operations in the United States. Tim Horton’s Pouter’s (Poutines) are some of the lowest quality Pouter’s in Ontario. For Top Notch Pouter’s you cant go to a restaurant chain, or a fancy restaurant. The BEST Pouter’s are going to be from you’re Mom & Pop’s chip stands, the small lesser known places will be the best, in Ontario anyways. Up here in Northern Ontario, Timiskaming Shores to be exact. We have a dozen or 2 Pouter shops and the best two would have to be; #2; Grandma Chippers in North Cobalt $ #1: The Silver Cafe in Cobalt, Ontario, Canada. Will blow you’re F@$king Minds !!!!!!!
