Only just seen your page. I’m a local from Weipa and I was up at Penny on the 09/06 and saw ya Misso paddling for ya while you threw the net chasing bait she’s a legend. Just wanted to say when we drove onto the beach that morning we found a massive croc eating a turtle

Definitely sounds like Shell ! 😅 yeah there are Croc's everywhere around Penny, those dams out the front Definitely have a couple big corcs, I believe one is named George. Yes we love Penny as well. It's amazing. But the fishing used to be a lot better a few years ago, it's becoming a popular spot these days.

I would definitely recommend fishing Cape mellville/Princess Charlotte Bay and the Jardine, I would give Penny a miss and go to Mapoon and fish the Wenlock.

We are based out of Mackay. So we're very much north Qld. Well if you have no set time frame, I would definitely be doing the Gulf, if you're interested in fishing, it's a lot better then the Cape. We're doing the NT at the end of next month.. we're not taking a boat, but will probably hire one. You could do the same, if I was to say anywhere, Hire one from Weipa.. don't worry about fishing the Annie River... it's below average ( it's the northern end of Princess Charlotte bay) it has no crabs, and probably the most amount of crocs we have seen in a system haha. You'll have a lot of fun on the Tele, take a week and enjoy it, it's the best part of the trip. Definitely, fish the Wenlock, walk the banks and have a blast.
