There is a small sockeye & chum salmon run right next to the highway at 69 mile of the Glenn Highway between Palmer and Glennallen. It was too early and the beavers have it dammed up again so there were no salmon yet but this is a great spot to stop and see fish right near the road. Back in 2007, I busted two guys from Utah that were using a net to scope out salmon from that spot.
