Bozeman is the nicest city in California. And it’s only a half hour in any direction back to Montana. Also, it will get to twenty below, for a week at a time in December and January.

We live in Belgrade, our roots go deep here. We've done regular visits to the Virginia City Players and the Playmill players. Now an historic theater in Bozeman, the Ellen, has been doing very well done plays. And we don't have to drive very far.

Great video! Next time you're in Bozeman, you gotta head up to Hyalite Reservoir. It's a nice (manmade) lake surrounded by a huge hiking trail system and beautiful waterfalls.

Our trip to Yellowstone was a good and bad experience. First after getting off the flight at Salt Lake City airport and went to pick up our rental car at NU rental car near the airport, we were scammed by the rental company . The office woman told us the car we rented through Hotwire is not allowed to the state Wyoming where Yellowstone National park located unless we pay more and upgrade our compact car to 4 wheel drive SUV . The price of the upgrade is 410 dollars extra that is double the price of Hotwire listed price. So we are in their hostage because if we don’t pay it we don’t go. Finally we were left with no other choice but agree to pay. To make the story short we enjoyed the whole trip to Yellowstone and the surrounding areas liked The city of Jackson and Grand Teton park. My bad experience did not end there. On our trip back to San Francesco we purposely took the Amtrak instead of flying . That was a big mistake. We boarded the train depot at Salt Lake City ,about 4 hours after departing the station the freight train in front broke down and died on the only track for more 20 hours. So instead of only taking 17 hours trip it took us for a total of 37 hours on a coach seat with no shower or meals. The main complain on this trip is the car rental company NU Rental Company who scammed us 410 dollars . Watch out for this company even though it has the lowest bid in the first sign but you will pay much more in the end.

Went to school in Bozeman. Way more beautiful than Missoula ;) Seriously though, great place. You can easily spend 2-3 days in Big Sky, even in the summer. The tram to the top of Lone Mtn is spectacular on a clear day. Beehive Basin hike is one of my favorite day hikes in Montana, although it may be too strenuous for some.

The earthquake of 59 was felt in Bozeman and in the morning I had noticed things in my room had moved around a bit. Myself and a friend had decided not to go on a Boy Scout camping trip which was very close to the epicenter on that weekend. None of my friends were hurt, but they had some wild stories to tell. Ennis has an interesting motor hotel which consists of small individual log cabin like structures, which we stayed at, and our daughter enjoyed that more than being at any other hotel and such as we visited Yellowstone, Bozeman, Helena, Glacier National Park, and Banff, and relatives along the way before returning home to Austria. Hard to imagine that Bozeman only had a population of some 8,000 when I grew up there in the 50s and 60s. The "M" stood for Montana State College before it became MSU, the UM Rivale, which would come to Bozeman to steal the cannon.

I feel like a storyteller. You will have noticed there's no roof, but at both ends of the pool, one can see the shape where a roof might have covered the length of the pool. There was one there once. We had driven out to Chico for the day, enjoyed swimming, then it was time for us to go back home. No sooner had we left the pool area, walking through the door when the roof collapsed onto the pool. We missed it by inches. There were some injuries, fortunately, no one drowned in that accident. My father had gone back in to help.
