Ephesians 1-6 - The Bible from 30,000 Feet - Skip Heitzig - Flight EPH01

Who are we in Christ? In Paul's letter to the church in Ephesus, he answered that very question as he addressed a group of believers who were ignorant of their spiritual wealth in Jesus. He explained how the Christian is the bride of Christ, a temple in the Lord, and a soldier for the gospel. On this flight, we see how Paul also emphasized unity among believers, describing the church as a body that works together for a common goal.
This teaching is from our series The Bible from 30,000 Feet - 2018 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

    Pastor Skip Heitzig is now included in my circle of teachers who are not afraid to teach the whole Word of God. He is right there with Pastor Carter Conlon, David Wilkerson and Billy Graham. I have learned so much from these Godly men. Pastor Skip is absolutley right that I use to be totally lost but not anymore. I have no desire to be the man I was. I can't get enough of God's Word in my heart. If I watch or listen to anything else I feel like it takes away from my first love. Wherever your treasure is there will your heart be also. I am a rich man in Jesus Christ!

    Thank you Pastor Skip for teaching us the wisdom of The Word of GOD. Heartbreaking when a man's pride for himself and the wealth he has acquired are more important for him to sacrifice his relationships. When Christian men are so anxious and concerned more about losing their wealth and sacrifices than his loss of relationships it can be said that they are more attached to the things of this world than the knowledge of the Truth , wisdom , love and service for others in love for others. GOD bless you Skip Heitzig and also your family 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

    I can't take a shower. I have some washed clothes from when I left Casa Paloma, the women's shelter in Tucson. They're not new clothes and they're the kind you get from Walmart or thrift stores. I wash some of them in the sink in the bathroom. I don't know where is the laundry room on site and the mailbox key won't work. My mail still goes to Primavera, the resource management for homeless shelters in Tucson. It's an awful situation being homeless so many times since I retired 14 years ago. They offered me an air mattress to sleep on the floor a folding chair and 2 TV tables. Suitcases and a duffle bag on the floor. How is it going to get better? I don't see it. I'll just keep commenting here and Marty Goetz House of Worship and Derek Prince online, and submit prayer requests to Times Square Church New York. I feel like a raggedy hopeless sad clown this way. Abba Father, show me what to do. I'm filled with stubborn pride.

    This teaching is great. Especially about Paul's history. Dianna is called the "god"ess of Ephesus. Other "gods" are called by their names. When will people stop calling our creator by this generic name, "god?" This "god" is a title. It could be any "god." We are to glorify the name of Elohim. His name is Yahweh. The self existing "Father" of Love. Our Lord and Savior also has a name. Yahshua. " Yahweh saves." The only begotten Son of Yahweh. There are many deceptions by scribes and religion. Hiding the true name of Our Creator and "His" son is one of many. There was no "J" in Hebrew. The Lords name was pronounced in Hebrew. May Yahweh Bless, Halleluyah, Amen

    Skip, I enjoy listening to this series. Just a correction for your reference to "the house", unless there is something I am misunderstanding. Christ is the cornerstone. The apostles and prophets are the foundation. 20 And are built upon the foundation of the aapostles and bprophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief ccorner stone;

    Skip, I hope you have a chance to read this and deeply pray about it. I love your teaching, but this one area I want you to think about. Ephesians is written about the Church, not individuals. The WE are the CHURCH. So THE CHURCH was chosen before the foundation of the world. A separate entity from the Nation of Israel. WE the Body of Christ was hidden but now revealed after Jesus resurrection. Colossians 1:24-27. So we see in Colossians, THE CHURCH is that mystery Paul wants the saints to earnestly understand these differences and purposes of God. When a baby Christian we read Ephesians in first person, but as we grow in the Grace and knowledge of Him, we come to understand just as Israel the Nation is God's Elect, the CHURCH, the BOC is the Elect of Jesus...we are HIS BODY, BONE OF HIS BONE FLESH OF HIS FLESH. And as Eve was taken from the side of Adam, so THE CHURCH is taken from the side of Christ. So ALL TODAY who put their faith in Jesus Christ during THIS DISPENSATION OF GRACE are the ELECT CHURCH...WHOSOEVER will. This is where Calvinism gets it wrong. And after listening to your message here, it appears you are also teaching God picks and chooses who He wants to save. You failed to compete the verse as is the problem, we were chosen to be IN HIM , God's plan before the foundation of the world, to be HOLY AND BLAMELESS having predestined us yo the adoption of sons. Sons then heirs. A very high prestigious position never heard of before. And as Paul continues to teach through out his letters that we were predestined to be conformed to His Image. So the CHURCH, having a unique calling has been forordained before the foundation of the world to be something so totally NEW. To be Glorified together with Christ is beyond wrapping our head around. It was never given to Adam and Eve, or ever promised to Earthly Israel. When shortchanging the wonders of this mystery Paul wanted us to understand, by just saying God picked you to be saved, negates the whole beauty of The MYSTERY OF CHRIST IN YOU "THE HOPE OF GLORY. " I believe this hope of Glory is a position we will have ABOVE THE ANGELS. If we are begotten sons through Jesus Christ seated with Him in heavenly places IN CHRIST, .....this is not a place equal to angels but above. One day we will judge angels so says Paul. God bless. Thank you for listening

    Psalm 33 1 Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. 2 Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. 3 Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. 4 For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. 5 He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. 6 The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. 7 He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. 8 Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. 9 For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command. 10 The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. 11 But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. 12 What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. 13 The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. 14 From his throne he observes all who live on the earth. 15 He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do. 16 The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior. 17 Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory- for all its strength, it cannot save you. 18 But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. 19 He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine. 20 We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.

    Arrogance + theology = ignorance. why do I say this? read on. 1 Cors 9:22 why did Paul say I become all things to all men that I might save some IF Paul knew the kind of election Skip believes in? Judgement, reward, degrees of punishment and rewards...Paul crying over his lost brothers...preaching with all his energy to save some does NOT jive with Skip's theology of election. Skip's arrogance is that he thinks he can understand the mind of God. Pastors fall prey to this more times than not. And once they comitt to a certain theology they CAN NOT admit they were wrong....they would MOST certainly lose followers.

    And I had heard good things about this pastor. He's one of a growing number of very poor interpreters of scripture. Listen to Soteriology 101 and Beyond the Fundamentals. I'm so fed up with having wicked theology shoved down my throat. Really... So God creates MOST people being UNABLE to believe and sends them to hell and He's glorified in doing so:( That is NOT the God of scripture.

    God knows everything from before he created anything. So, ofcourse, He knew who would respond to the prodding of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, God knew who would respond so He knew us before the foundation of the world. It’s not easy to explain or understand. But, God gave us free will which is of great importance to him. The HS works to convict us of our need for a savior. If we continue to denying it we are lost. It is our choice where we will spend eternity.

    I believe you have misunderstood what is being taught. Every person is predestined, by God, to be with God. Each person then has a choice to make. If you have made the choice to believe in Jesus, you will follow the road to an awesome destination. If you reject, Jesus, the destination God has for you…. that’s on you. You can’t blame Him for a choice you made. How many time does He have to ask you to believe and choose the greater destination? However, you can change your mind and be forgiven and realigned…. ❤
