Ep6: January allotment plot tour + rabbit poop and MORE cardboard

Gardening with a dog on my allotment plot and garden in the UK - twice weekly diary/vlog of our exploits.
Saturday afternoon at the plot trying to get the rabbit poop and cardboard on the beds - the wind had other ideas...

Aw thank you. I'm really not sure what I'm doing, but I'm having fun! Yes, it is lovely to be close to family - we're out walking the dog together all the time :)

Found your channel yesterday (it came up in my recommended section) and love it! I find lots of the allotment channels a bit heavy going but, like Emma's Allotment Diaries, yours are easy to watch and actually encourage me to get out for 20 minutes and do little jobs that need doing in my garden. I think having a wildlife area is a good idea...encourage the hedgehogs in especially and they'll sort out the slugs!

What a lovely message - thank you Janna. Yes, sometimes 20 mins makes all the difference, doesn't it. I have hedgehogs and foxes at the home garden and although there are sometimes slugs and snails in the greenhouse, I really do think they keep them in check. Sparrows tend to be my issue in the home garden - they've eaten all the winter purslane now! Thank you for watching - I really appreciate it.

We have a small butane cooker in our shed to boil a kettle, and it's surprising the meals you can produce from one burner. I enjoy the challenge!

Oh how lovely to be recommended! Thank you for liking my posts on Instagram too. My colleague and I were so shocked when we looked up how many poops per day! Apparently her rabbit is very good and uses his tray but if he finds himself upstairs and caught short he will go do his business in the family bathroom - but she is diligently collecting those ones for me too!

loving your vlogs and dorys onesie lol i need one for yang i think shes a bichon frise so always comes home black n muddy ,,and after watching your vlogs and of course jessie at plot 37 and Emma's diaries ive actually plucked up the courage to apply for my own plot as my garden is just not big enough to grow the volume of food id like to and not have to go to shops anymore, i was in a community plot for one day until i discovered they only meet a couple of hours on sundays get hardly anything done eat cake and drink coffee and chat and dont really garden lol s ofingers crossed im lucky enough to get one and who knows maybe ill become yet another girly garden vlogger lol

Oh fingers crossed for you - I really hope you don't have to wait too long. When I got mine, my whole family were away on holiday because it was half term and I was so so so excited with no one to tell! I couldn't stop smiling lol. That's a shame about the community plot - it sounds so amazing in principle, and I'm sure there are lots that work well, but yes, that one doesn't sound like the right fit for someone who actually wants to grow stuff. Sounds a bit like some book clubs I've been in... (having said that, I am releasing a video today in which I basically go to the plot and just drink tea and eat cake - haha! - please keep watching, I promise I will also be growing things when the weather allows!) Thank you for watching and I hope I my videos can go a little way to sustaining you while you wait for your own plot.

@Bev croft oh the frost got my autumn sown broadbeans too this year. I am going to try again with them soon. I'm in love with hellobores. My 'double purple' just opened yesterday (pic is on instagram) and my other are so close to blooming. Hellebores, dahlias and hostas are my must haves.

I was chuffed when I saw it already had compost bays - but actually they're a bit of a mess and I'm not sure how to even get into them! It makes sense to me to move them into the corner and free up space at the back where the greenhouse can go and maybe a nice seating area too.
