Ep6: Cartel war has made a Mexican town feel like a zombie apocalypse. Most residents have fled.
A tale of two Sasabes Pt 1: Sasabe is said to be Arizona's most remote town. News stories from November and December 2023 had reported that there was a cartel turf war that had broken out and the town had evacuated.

With the last news reports on Sasabe coming out in February and March, I was a little unsure of what I'd find. I had briefly visited in mid March and the town was mostly empty. I found one local to talk to who seemed to think that people would be returning.. So I decided to come back for another look and to shoot some video.

Thank you! I've got some great stuff coming up 😄
Not me! Having grown up in Southern Arizona I wanted to see what Sasabe looks like. Here the first half is watching connection to a drone and the second half looking at a road, speeding through a town so fast that one cannot see the houses or historical buildings. Where is the post office? school, or any stores, saloons, or even a medical center? Very disappointing. Someone needs to go there and make a wonderful video of this unique village of a bygone era! We used to play Sasabe (basketball) and I was always curious as to what it was like...Can't really tell in this video. Guess I'll have to go there in person. 🤔

Sounds great! Make the trip and then make a KZread video about it :) My channel is mostly focused on migration and Sasabe Sonora is a hotspot for cartel on cartel violence.
