When I’m using that foam, I use baking paper so it doesn’t stick to the base or sides and you can reuse it. I also use pva glue as a base for my turf etc as it holds really well and if you spray a mix of isopropyl alcohol and water, it reactivates the glue and you can add more green etc to the scene

Thank you for the ideas. Mixing Elmer's glue and water in a squirt bottle and then spraying over your work will also glue down the material. It dries clear.

Really cool video. Didn't realize how much work/time it takes for the dioramas. I guess the more realistic you want it to look, the more work needs to go into it. Looks fantastic sir!

It’s easy and quick. Dry times are the only delays….but it’s really just an hour of work actually applying, carving and layering the materials.

Looks great! You can use cheap aerosol hair spray (mega hold) to spray over all the turf once you sprinkle it on and it will set it.

What's the benefit of the Loctite brand over Great Stuff? I ask because more folks may be familiar with GS for that portion of building scenery with expanding foam.

Great question. And I’ve seen 2 big advantages: It has a tighter molecular structure so it’s less bubbly and much more dense so nice to work with and a better surface for other layers to go on. It also dries white so any of that can show through by design or accident and it’ll look natural.

Thanks! Sure! The open track parts are available in kits sold at Walmart. Adventure Force Crash Racers known as “AFCR” (the gray) track. It takes many of the kits to assemble a full track. The black track is vintage Mattel from 1969-70 and some was also produced again in the 90’s early 2000’s I think. Find it on eBay. Mattel Fat Track or Sizzler Track. If you look in the description of any of my videos, recently, you will see a list of small businesses that 3D print parts that help connect all of these tracks together as well as new and improved variations of the turns, start gate systems and even the straight pieces and mergers. Those are harder to come by in big quantities but at least one of the 3D printers is working on producing a straight piece of open track. Enjoy the build and stay in touch. 😎🤘🏼
