Ep13: In conversation with RJ Balaji | Pacha Satta, Getting Married Young & Singapore Saloon |

To start this podcast I had many apprehensions, I had a viral video and what follows a viral video, like clockwork is hate. So when I started this podcast I was scared, because people wouldn’t want to hear opinions from me, cause I’m just a girl who who went viral. In the beginning I got an opportunity to work with an actor who I was big fan of, I had gone with a lot excitement and it truly was a dream come true, but that episode with an actor shattered my confidence, throughout the episode I felt like I was made to feel small, and as the episode ended it was the smallest I felt in my life.i went back home after the podcast with tears, wondering why did I work so hard throughout my life to make a name for myself, just to feel this small.
And that feeling persisted, every time I did podcast I felt like I must hold back, cause if i say a word or two more i would be taunted for it.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to do a podcast with RJ Balaji sir, I did not want to feel the same way i felt the first time- so I had only prepared movie related questions, did want to utter a word more. But I had the most important learning of my own journey. I was very nervous, under-confident and I tanked it. But I tanked in front of a very kind man, and for the first time in a very long time, I felt larger when i left the room. In conversation with sir I realized I had censored myself from saying anything with the fear of what would other people say, I do things with my heart on my sleeve- I may not look like it but everyday I was doing my best I could. This episode may not be my best, but on a personal level it was the best thing that could’ve happened to me. I’ll learn to do better. I’ll keep learning, and I’ll keep doing it with my heart on my sleeve as I always have.

And RJ Balaji kooda epdiyaachum current flow la young pros kooda connection la ye irukaaru (essily updating himself) I think that is the place where we all are lagging 😒

This is the first time I've commented on a KZread video; but frieswithpotate is one of the first Tamil (maybe tanglish?) channels where I've felt Gen Z has genuinely been represented beyond a surface-level. It's so refreshing to see someone like Sameeha rise on this platform because the conversations she holds with her guests on frieswithpotate are actually relevant to our daily lives (they just hit different 😭) and ultimately feel genuine. Sameeha consistently says what needs to be said, which is why I hope she continues to make great, soul fulfilling content.

Sam, I just read the description on this Video. I am so glad that RJ Balaji gave an opportunity to realize how good you are at everything to try. Be it dance or technology stuff or conducting such soulful interviews, you are absolutely great! After your viral dance video (I have seen your techology talks before I guess and I didn’t recognize it was you who was dancing in that video), I did see a lot of good comments and some bad comments. After that when you posted some dance or quirky videos, I was sad to see a lot of hateful comments. I hoped that you can see all those people trying to put down you because she got a success that they cannot dream off. It’s their way of feeling good about themselves by typing rude comments hoping that it shatters your confidence. I thought you will not give them a chance to feel good. But I was heartbroken when I came to know that you took down that video. But then your podcasts started . I understood that you are making a statement that you are much more than a girl who went viral in single video. I watch all your interviews and even though I liked every word you said, I noticed that you are self censoring or getting conscious about what you are talking. I am so grateful that RJ Balaji made you realize even if there are 10 people who like your work, do it how you like it. Infact you have only 10 haters, rest of us love you ❤. So keep rocking, Sam!

Changing the course of the conversation and making the appropriate changes is probably the most important feature of the person doing a podcast and constructing relevant questions to get more from the person opposite to you. (Hey Sameeha I'm so sorry for sending you all these comment notifications because me commenting on every video might seem weird on your end but I'm binge-watching these while I study and they've been great) This was actually such a wholesome and just heartfelt interview because where he's coming from is from a place of just knowing himself so well and just accepting himself as just an ordinary guy at heart. But also the capacity for stardom / fame to change people is so easy, and the fact that he's actively spending time to resist that temptation is very admirable. Great work Sameeha ☺
