EP11 | Building a Fully Insulated Bulkhead | Insulating the Cab | Self build van conversion

In this video you will see us replacing the existing metal bulkhead with a newly built and fully insulated version. This is a ply base with a 25mm timber frame, with Celotex fitted in between.
I took some of the dashboard away to see how easy it was going to be to insulate the front cab from the cold, but it seemed impossible, so we opted to keep the cab separated from the "house" part of the van.
This has also been done to help us with fitting in the water tank which is going to be installed behind the front passenger seats, plus the calorifier and the charging devices.
A pain staking job, but it was well worth doing, we often hear people complaining about the condensation in the front cab area, which will be worse in the Alps at minus temperatures where it will turn to ICE!
