Ep10 - Favored
Heyy besties in Christ! Welcome to the next episode of It’s A Life Thing!! My name is Liz, and I love discovering new things about God and then sharing them!
In this episode, I read from 2 Samuel 9, discussing King David’s unusual kindness toward Mephibosheth (a man known for being lame in his legs), simply because of his father, Jonathan (a man who shows David unusual kindness), who supports David against his own father, King Saul (who was out to kill David at the time). Mephibosheth got a seat at King David’s table for nothing that he could have done, rather because he was related to Jonathan, a loyal friend and companion to the King before his rulership.
We find favor in the sight of those around us and even those we may have no business having found favor from because of our Father, God. In abiding by and being in true fellowship with God, we are promised to be favored and blessed, not because of anything we could have ever done, but because God loved us so much as to send His Son, Christ Jesus, on our behalf, so that we can be reconciled with Him and walk in the goodness that comes with it.
