I love Roxanne! She comes up with some of the most interesting, useful information… lady knows her 💩… and OMG I just got two of these mag-slider Yeti lids to replace my broken ones… they fit my cheap-o Walmart cups perfectly… the lids are now officially more expensive than the cups 😂 And best believe I’m following BeYarnce now 🤣

I so needed to know about the yeti lids! My dog keeps destroying all of my lids, caps, water bottles etc. His toys and stuffies will last him decades, but if something is mine he has to prove he has the strongest jaw in the animal kingdom.

That's so fun that you included Ditto opening his box. What a good boy! I can relate you your issues with you Voyage. I struggle with overthinking patterns like that because I constantly second guess my size, gauge, etc. One thing to consider if you're still uncertain about size, with the floats, you will loose a tiny bit of ease because the fabric is slightly thicker. (I'm sure you know this.) If your gut says to go up a needles size for the colorwork, I'd do it. I hate when my floats look tight and don't blend well with my ribbing.

Girl, I should’ve known you were a ♓️! My dad was as well and this Sag LOVES water signs💜 I am a magpie with a love of shiny things, so seeing the “good chi balls” (grandson’s name for it) blessing you was amazing. I watch bc I too am a total shit show/hot mess. We have to stick together in a world that’s full of “normies.” Where’s the fun in that??? Ditto was such a good boy. This is probably too late, but for many people-- and you clearly are one-- color work pulls in, and for those folks (including me), I go up a needle size for color work, and then back down for solid sections.

If knitting panels for sweater you should get a knitting machine. That way you'll have the sweater done in 1 day and you don't have to worry about Putting it away.

I just purchased the Voyage pattern yesterday, It's not in my immediate cast on future though. It just looked like FUN to me. I was supposed to cast on the Home Cardigan a few days ago, but for the first time in the 30 years I have lived here, I got hit with a porch pirate. Seriously, who steals yarn from an ol lady? I've ordered more and awaiting the mail man. Ditto was so cute!

Re: choosing colors: if you have a nice set of colored pencils and can choose colors that more or less match your yarn, consider making a copy of the color work chart, and then coloring in the colors you want to use. Then you can kinda see what they'll look like. You may need to make multiple copies of the chart so you can try different colors in different places.

Love everything!

On the swatch maybe go down a size for the main color. Then if you like the colorwork as it knits up and you make gauge, stick with the size 5 needle. I did hear you say you would use a 4. The other thing is to wash the swatch then measure. I’ve knit many Dale of Norway ski sweater patterns and when the colorwork was dense that’s what I did. Results were great and the steeking was easy. The yarn I used most often was Heilo which unfortunately is unavailable.

Ditto is the best !! 🎉

Make sure to wet block your Voyage swatch-- you're using super wash which can grow like crazy!

I’m curious - maybe you said and I missed it- did you already block your swatch? I don’t think it’s unusual to have to use 2 sizes up for colorwork vs. one color stockinette. I’m making the Voyage too and will probably swatch in the next week or so. Excited to see how yours goes.
