This bathroom is an understated masterpiece, especially the dresser, lace curtains and frames. You both problem solve with style and brave decisions and then bring it all together with perfect styling. I think bathrooms need a little softening with treasures to avoid looking like shrines to tiles. Just that little hint of colour with the soft green lifts the whole scheme. Congratulations.

I absolutely love the bathroom, and you're decorating the room. Great idea on the lace table cloth for curtins. As well as those swan sink taps, those are so unique and unusual. Those little white bisque statutes are adorable, but I would be afraid of them getting broken in the restroom. Great idea for the lady playing the harp. The 3-way mirror works wonderfully and is stunning!

Whilst travelling on a train between Florence and La Spezia, in Italy a few years back, I commented to my husband that the white mountains in the distance looked like Carrera marble, and lo and behold, the next station was Carrera. Your feature brought back the happy memories of that day. The colours of your en suite are lovely. I also have a small collection of antique handmade lace and embroidered linens, and love the re-use of the cloth as a curtain and artwork (very inspiring). You are both so creative and gifted, using your skills to create a lovely space for yourselves.

Thank you we learned so much!! You really know how to be very classy on a shoe string. You are such an example, not to think the more expensive the better. Your attention to detail is really worth mentioning. I love most of all "the masculine twist to lace".....being a hand weaver and loving it to weave the lacy Norwegian patterns for towels, washcloths, tea towels and throws etc. Yes!! Air Supply I grew up with, love the band, the music, always. My father passed away in 2011 in his 60's.I have fond memories as well as frustration growing up at home, not being able to sleep at night, as he would spend the evenings sitting in his boat (in our large home garage) playing Air Supply in the top 5 music , in his boat stereo.

@@ChateauLove Yes, I learned this amazing craft while living in the North of England in the late 70's. What an amazing group of ladies to take on this young American girl to teach to art of lacemaking! Although I don't make too much lace anymore, it has given me such an appreciation of the hours and hours and hours of work that goes into any lace project. Just making an inch of a simple one inch wide lace takes about 20 minutes.....so 3 inches an hour! I made a lovely linen hankie with a lace surround for a cousin of mine during my early days and told her is she EVER used it as a hankie, I would haunt her! She had it framed and returned it to me a couple of years ago when she was downsizing! What a lovely gift!

Vivienne, what an amazing art project for the water closet! I have pieces of lace that dates back to my great-grandmother (born 1826) which has been in my family for 4 generations and you've just opened up a brand new way of showcasing it!! Thank you! Colin: A rose de fromage!!! How quaint and very cheeky.... Your 1st attempt though, resembled more of a carnation... So you could certainly offer 'L'Oeillet de fromage pour Monsieur'. The word "carnation" is a derivative of the word "coronation". Traditionally carnations were offered to royalty to denote fascination and distinction. In Ancient Greece, carnations were fashioned into laurel wreaths (called coronets) to indicate a victor of high born class. These were used during ceremonial events such as coronations and openings of parliaments. The carnation is of the 'dianthus' family of flowers and the word means 'Flower of the Gods". So, royal men not only wore lace made for them, they also were crowned with carnations. You know, perhaps you could tint or use fabric paint on the shower curtain to give it a lovely texture that would match the 2 Grecian painting on either side. It could be as simple as strokes of a 1" brush across it or just the hem and top or a leaf motif that would mirror the buffet sinks. Use the contrast color, not cream or white. There is a lot of white surrounding you and the curtain stands out as a little "too modern".

This is the first chateau bathroom ,I’ve seen on a vlog, that has had a lot of thought and creativity put into it. It’s gorgeous! Many are modern,tiled spaces that are purely functional. No artwork, wooden painted cabinets,very square taps and toilets. Glass doored showers , so that as you step from an 19th century chateau bedroom into a 21st century bathroom. Sadly ,it just doesn’t seem complementary ,or sympathetic, to chateau style. It’s very lovely!❤️

Beautifully awe inspiring

Bonjour my darling! I love how you turned a buffet into a vanity. That’s so brilliant. And I love swans and peacocks. Imma bird person myself. My dad had a love of birds especially eagles and swans. Rest in Heaven daddy it’s been a year 2 days ago since he went on to Heaven and any talk about birds I can’t help but think of him. Thanks for sharing I love your taste I lived in Paris being a little girl and I do miss the whole French life. A lot of ppl settled in Louisiana from France. In fact they bought Louisiana. If I can’t move to France I’m going to decorate my room like it. My daughter who I live with don’t want the whole baroque look all over the house so I’ll do just my room like a Parisian.
