I had a contractor scream at me and leave when I asked him questions one too many times. "Good help is hard to find." Indeed.

Fantastic job. Andrew was a superman plowing through it all and with help from Sabrina who also was amazing, you guys have transformed a blah split into a nice looking home.

This is such a fun reno to watch. I grew up in a split level house and I always hated that you'd walk into the front door to just a bunch of stairs. Its not welcoming or homey at all but it always felt like an impossible thing. Watching it being fixed has been so satisfying. Can't wait to see the rest!

Andrew don't be embarrassed about scooching across the beam. At 16 and building our pole barn with my family.. I scooched across those beams too... 25 feet up I was not walking it..nope nope nope. I cannot wait to see how these gables turn out.

Unfortunately, finding really good professionals are hard to find. I was fortunate enough to go with a small rural company, and he re-shingled my roof, including new eaves and gutter guards. His pride in workmanship was incredible. Work was done in a timely manner, and the job site was always neat and organized. You get the bad apples out there that give some of these hardworking individuals a bad reputation, which is unfortunate. Get at least three quote and check all references, and even visit past clients to review their work. Hopefully, everything will only get easier for you guys. It's tough doing a whole house reno. My husband and I did just what you have done back in late 90's, early 2000. It was a lot of work and mostly all done DIY,but so worth it. Much respect. ❤

This is beyond impressive! Wow, I can’t believe one person is capable of all of this detailed work!

I too have a horror story! Back when we were building our home, my husband knew most of the contractors; however, when came time to replace the shingles, I was newly widowed and relied on my brother-in-law’s recommended contractor. A few years later … garage ceiling came down soaked! New contractor, new dry ceiling and blown in insulation, I love my garage as an extra room to work in!

You def made the right call to re shingle the whole roof.

I'm so glad you made the choice to hire roofers. Being so tired is so dangerous. When you're overworked accidents can happen. Thanks for the video.

This remodel is so gorgeous and it is obvious to me you take great pride in your work. So sorry your roofing contractor wasn’t up to standard, that truly makes the process that much harder. But, I hope in the end it all works out well. Can’t wait to see the next episode.👍🏻

Well, now we hear what it’s like when the mike is off or cut out of editing. That is the real stuff behind a renov. Impatience and some friction between the workers. It’s not all sugar and sweetness. Speaking from experience of renovating our entire house 24 years ago. The good news is we are still married and very happy to be together as best friends and lovers. Great progress and looking forward to the next episode. Stay real.

The amount of progress you two made in a week is laudible. Going up and down a ladder when working on a roof leaves your legs feeling like you over did leg day at the gym. I have so many things that need replaced but haven't been able to find anyone willing to do the job right.
