Oh Jenny!!! Such a lovely vlog! Thoroughly enjoyed it! The stairwell and skylight look stunning, it was lovely to see part of the ground floor, love the windows, the kitchens and how you set up the outdoor lunch on the balcony for your guests. Fantastic music choice again, love, love, love it! Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you Amina! So glad you liked it. More coming soon 💕🤗💕
Love the skylight placed in just the right spot! Good idea to illuminate every floor like that. Also loved the white dress you had on in the first part of this. I liked the lightest shade of green for the kitchen, but as this video is 9 months old, you have probably already chosen the color.

Thank you! Yes that’s the colour we’ll be using in the kitchen. Not quite ready to paint it yet, but soon! 🤗
Thank you for the tour! I love how the hallway has entrances on either side with so much light coming through. The skylight is a great addition. The rooms are such a great size to have furniture and lots of seating but not look overcrowded in any way ( absolutely love the teal sofas).

Thank you! Yes I love the teal sofas too, and they are very comfortable. They are one of the few items we have bought new. Most of the furniture came with the house, some more we bought in brocantes (second hand), but those sofas and the kitchen islands are the only new items we’ve bought so far.
You look great Jen as does the house. Can't wait to see the rest of it. Look forward to the next episode ❤

Thank you. Yes we love the layout too. It’s one of the things that attracted us to this house 💕
Every time I get a glimpse of the grass area at the back of your home, I think of what it would look like with a walled garden. There is already a wall on the right. What a lovely sight to look out onto.

Hi Sally! Yes I agree, but so far we’re planning to ‘wall’ it with hedges… but they need to be planted in the Autumn and will take time to grow into ‘walls’. Also, south of the house there is a large walled garden, only one of the walls is now overgrown with fruit trees. We will show you this in more detail in future episodes.
Oh love this channel! I haven't seen the library yet, I wonder if the library could swap with the dining room. Then you would have the view of the open countryside and right next to the kitchen. Just a thought. XX

Hi Sue! Thank you for joining us 🤗 That’s an interesting idea indeed. On the other hand, I do love having the dining room on the side with the terrace, as we so often start the meal with aperitifs on the terrace. At some point though we’ll get an outdoor table for the west side of the house, however the prevailing wind does tend to come from that way, so we end up eating on the terrace or in the dining room mostly. Thanks again for watching! 💕🤗💕
I have many questions and I am sure you will answer them as your videos go on. How long have you lived there? How many acres do you have? You are a farm....what do you grow? Wine? Where are you located in France? The layout is nice but you are right to remodel your kitchen to modern standards. I like the lightest of the greens for your kitchen. Good luck to you on your renovations.

Hi Rochelle, Thank you for your comments and questions ! We bought it in 2020, and we have about 3 acres. Indeed it is a farm! It used to produce Cognac and Tobbaco, but we have much smaller scale plans that we shall reveal in due course. Yes I like the lighter green for the kitchen too. Thank you for watching💕🤗💕

It seems like really dark paint colors for a kitchen that doesn't seem to have a lot of natural light.

Thanks Linda, yes I prefer the lighter shades. The kitchen is a bit dark just now but that’s only because all the shutters are closed to keep lit the heat - it’s nearly 40C here(104F)! 🥵🌡

@@jennyschateaufarm ugh! And no air conditioning! We Americans are so spoiled. Of course we Texans dealt with 30 straight days over 100 on up into the teens. Blazing hot this summer!

Hi @@rhondathomas7952 ! Yes I remember those Texan summers well - I had a Grandma who used to live in Denison Texas. We certainly could not have survived without air con. Charente is thankfully much more forgiving as those high temperatures do not last so long, and generally, the thick stone walls keep this house nice and cool,. So long as we keep the shutters closed to keep the hot Sun out.
Also, who’s the cameraman? You introduced so many ppl at the festival yet the one constant and important person we haven’t got a clue about! 😂👍🏼

Hi Randall, I use Soundstripe for all my background music. Here’s the one I used for that intro: app.soundstripe.com/songs/12030
Thank you for the tour of your lovely house. I think you should go with much lighter paint colors for the kitchen, perhaps a pale yellow or blue, even if you do get good light in there. Are you going to keep the pantry separate from the kitchen? Like the layout so much better than enfilade. Where are you located exactly? You might want to get some portable air conditioner units for the rooms you use most!

Strange setting ! You go to the library from kitchen ?
Very nice. 3.3m high ceilings on the ground floor? Where I am in Azay-le-Ferron, the Berrichonne were normally quite short people, so many of the ordinary houses have quite low ceilings, however, if you cut your own firewood, less volume to heat is not a bad thing.
@jennyschateaufarm
Жыл бұрын
Hi Harry, yes the high ceiling heights were one of the things we were looking for in a property. And we love the large windows that come with the high ceilings too!
@harryfaber
Жыл бұрын
@@jennyschateaufarm The pig sty had a ceiling too low for me to stand up straight in, but the overall height of the building limited how high I could raise it, as that would cut the height of the bedroom and bathroom above it. Compromises have been made! It is all fun!
It looks like you have a working kitchen in the dining room area too? Is that just temporary while you’re remodeling the main kitchen?
@jennyschateaufarm
Жыл бұрын
Hi Camille, yes the kitchen in the dining room area was already there when we bought the property, so that is what we have been using. But we intend to renovate what was the old kitchen into a larger kitchen, and then restore the dining room to being just that - with a larger table able to accommodate at least 12 people. Thanks for your great question! : )
When you’re done with the new kitchen remodel, are you going to remove the kitchen that’s in the dining room? ChuckandMax
