Je comprends le boulot , j'en suis à ma troisième maison , dont une avait fait l'objet d'un incendie . C'est épuisant , mais Dieu que c'est bon de voir ces bâtiments revivre .

C'est beau de voir ce que les humains peuvent construire ensemble ... On a tellement l'habitude de voir des images de destruction qu'on a tendance à oublier ce qu'il est possible d'accomplir quand on met ses efforts en commun.

....il y a de la folie , de l'abnégation , du don de soi ............. vous êtes des chevaliers de la renaissance

I would hope not. Most of the original building was destroyed and the whole chateau has enterely gutted. Busically of the original building, only some perimetral walls remain. I would have hoped for a little bit more conservative work. If the structure couldn't actually be preserved, I would have at least tried to conserve materials. And if there was no way to preserve most of the original building and the only solution was to build a new chateau, then great, that was a good solution. But I wouldn't really wish that treatment on historical buildings.

depending where you live. Here in Canada this would be illegal. Any building declared historic can only be fixed a certain way. We worked on our current courthouse which was build in 1913. After 30 million in restoration it still looks like shit. The mason workers told us they had to fight with the council over using modern tools. They literally expected workers to use old school tools from the 1900's for the restoration. It was such a cluster fuck. 4 years in you can barely tell anything was done. New metal flashings, some horrendous wood work, few patches of mortar and chaulking around all the window seals.

@@Crazyman1212 well then the council should have hired trained and experienced restoration workers. Sounds like they went for the cheapest bid and the workers would rather be lazy than learn something new. I HIGHLY doubt they expected them to use 100 year old chisels instead of new ones. Sounds like hyperbole to me.

@@madnessintomagic cheap bid? They could have torn down and rebuild for the 30. It was a big construction company from Toronto who do fantastic work. The council consisted of local cultural leader in the community with zero construction experience.

This one even had rotten bones when they took it on. Was practically a mountain of crumbling dust. Great potential, very beautiful architecture..., but an extraordinary mess and massive job. I give them so much credit for what they did, magnifique. They deserve awards and enough money to renovate all the glorious abandoned chateaus and castles in France.

this is mind blowing. this must cost a lot especially during pandemic. I am gonna watch rest of episodes. this looks amazing

La vie a besoin de destructeurs, et de constructeurs. Parceque parfois il faut détruire pour rebâtir. D’ailleurs, c’est ce qu’ils ont commencé par faire dans cette rénovation : détruire. Ne négligez donc pas ceux qui détruisent, ils doivent trouver la place qui leur est dû dans la société. Puissent-ils s’associer avec des « constructeurs » et, ensemble, faire la paire.

WOW!! What a massive undertaking! Beautiful! People wonder why there are so many abandoned properties left to decay. This shows what a huge job to restore. Not to mention the costs. I'm glad I came across your videos. Also like your 4 legged project manager! 🐕 Again, fantastic job!

This is a project you could be proud of for your entire life. If I were on the team, I would take my kids and family to see what I had helped accomplish. What an amazing job. I think that was slate on the roof. I hope that roof lasts another 100 years or more, before needing to be redone. Just WOW! Great Job!

@@austenit1771 зашел к ним на сайт. У них там открыт краудфандинг, инвестировать можно от 100 евро. Они хотят сделать отель. Интересно, насколько это рентабельно будет. Город стоит на пути из Лиона в Бордо, трасса Е70 его обходит по окружной. Еще там же есть шато de la Diege, судя по виду тоже недавно прошел реновацию.

реставрация с пластиковыми окнами, заливкой полов и пр.?))) не смеши меня, этому домику примерно 150 лет, в списке исторических памятников значится "4e quart 19e siècle" - там нечего реставрировать, его нужно было снести до основания и заново построить

@@user-vm3tg4gu9d а это не реставрация - это практически как в Москве делают с историческими зданиями - остается только похожий на старый фасад. а про то что это здание старше Парижа - ерунда, почитайте когда Осман перестраивал Париж

I built a 100m2 classic brick garage by myself, but what you gentlemen did is absolutely stunning. unbelievable. Beautiful work. Thousands hours of work , thousands tons of steel and cocnrete.

Thanks everyone who restored this Chateau to life. The skill and loving detail of it restoration was just beautiful. I can’t wait to see the finish. I’ve always wanted a Chateau!

I just wonder if they had to cover all the costs, or if there is grants in place to help save such buildings. There was a historic “mansion” in jersey (I think) for millions but was cost covered as long as the new owners restored it to former glory. The amount of work these guys are doing, and equipment they are using has to cost a ton!

We cover all the cost, approximately 4 millions with more than 500 investors in the project around the 3 founders

@@chateaudutheil I'm a big history person and especially love castles. It's always so sad to me when I see photos of castles that are in ruins. I know it costs a boatload of money to restore all of them and maintain them, but it's nice to see when they are restored/saved. There is one in France that an Australian couple bought and restored a few years ago. I don't remember the name of it, but I saw a couple videos about it a year or two ago.

A quand un Top Builder pour concurrencer Top Chef ? Le boulot abattu est a couper le souffle. Vous prenez tous les risques, vous en obtiendrez les dividendes. Well that's what construction crews are mostly made of is hard working youths, not many 50 year old's doing hard lifting heavy jobs, they've moved on to higher paying finish work as a result of their dedication to the trades.....that is if you survive the lousy pay, back breaking and unsafe conditions for the first 10 to 15 years. Retired after 37 years on the job here, I guess I made it.

We should acknowledge the past for what it really is, and try not to let it be our undoing. In other words, we shouldn't let the past destroy us, but rather learn from them without compromising our integrity.

(14/May/22). No lo puedo creer,lo que viven este video. Sencillamente extraordinario desplegado y ni pensar el costo económico que ha significado la restauración de un castillo medieval y la responsabilidad en la conservación de su patrimonio del país. Es un grandísimo ejemplo que debiéramos imitar, desde luego guardando las proporciones de lo que significa un país de 1er.mundo frente a uno subdesarrollado que no le interesa conservar patrimonio de edificaciones antiguas, importante para no olvidar nuestro pasado, por estas razones y muchas más desde Santiago de Chile🇨🇱, (sudamerica) felicito a ese grupo de personas y seguramente, muchas más,que hicieron posible lo imposible. Viva Francia..

Bravo à tous, c'est un travail colossal. J'aurai voulu voir chacun équipé d'un casque de protection, surtout pendant la phase de démolition. J'espère que personne n'a été blessé. Bravo les gars. Je regrette d'être trop vieux pour ce genre de magnifique folie.👍👍

Colossale restauration, bravo ! travaux et budget titanesque ! ... j'en sais quelque chose : J'ai commencé la restauration d'une propriété datant de 1840, constitué d'une maison de maître de 450 m2 et d'une maison de gardien de 190m2, le tout sur 1,5 hectare, en Normandie, perdue dans la campagne. Des parties du chantier, comme le grenier, des chambres, ressemblent à ce château (je n'ai pas fais couler de chappe béton, mais y ai reconstitué un plancher). La charpente, la toiture, les planchers et une parties des 30 fenêtres ont été changés. Reste encore pas mal de choses à faire.. Après séparation, je me retrouve seule dans cette aventure... galère pour continuer les travaux. Cela a débuté en 2014, et c'est en stand-by depuis 2019. ...Je me pose la question : où donc ces personnes ont trouvé le financement pour restaurer une telle bâtisse ? Mon banquier refuse de me prêter...bien qu'il approuve mon projet d'ouverture de gîtes et chambres d'hôtes.. et me demande de venir le revoir lorsque j'aurai fini les travaux afin d'apprécier le résultat !!!..... Bref, comme ce n'est pas un patrimoine classé...faut se débrouiller seule 😔 ...ou vendre. Je n'ai pas envie de me séparer de ce bien. Le lieu, la vue, sont apaisants. Bienvenue aux idées pouvant me diriger vers une solution... 🤗

Have just come across your channel and I am totally blown away from just this one episode. It is so wonderful to see another stunning Castle being renovated and brought back to it's former glory. So many once beautiful Chateaus and Castles are left to decay and rot away which I find tragic. Absolutely magnificent to watch the transformation, and my gratitude to all of you for restoring this wonderful building.

Patriotisme de quoi ? Ils ont acheté au bon moment et le projet du futur est plus que luxueux ! Emprunter un max pour que ça rapporte un max...ce ne sont pas des monsieur tout le monde ces gens là, ils ont un projet couteux et une banque ne prête pas aux pauvres alors arrêtez avec votre patriotisme inexistant ! Je serais curieux de savoir le montant du prêt lol

Hi l'EQUIPE des Rénovateurs :) Je viens de lire des commentaires admiratifs, et aussi parfois super-critiques...Oui, il ne reste plus grand-chose de la construction d'origine, mais elle était EN RUINES, donc, finalement, on n'a pas perdu grand chose...Merci pour votre travail assez considérable.....Pas PARFAIT, pas dans le respect réel du chateau d'origine, mais pas mal quand même. Mieux qu'une RUINE, c'est certain. Ciao

Je viens de découvrir cette vidéo par hasard. C'est tout simplement magnifique comme projet. Et tellement de travail réalisé en 2 ans. J'ai hâte de voir le château entièrement restauré.

I used to love working on these old time pieces way above new build any day, this kind of work is so rewarding well done gentlemen fantastic work bravo.

Titanesque, quand on voit la ruine du départ. Il faut être passionné ou complètement fada. Je subodore un sacré mélange des deux . Vous êtes d’incroyables personnes. Je suis estomaquée par votre travail de géant. C’est devenu une telle merveille. Un grand bravo . Respect!!!
