Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It’s a reunion! Author, teacher, and speaker Laura McKowen returns to the podcast today to talk with Annie about her new book, We Are the Luckiest: The Surprising Magic of a Sober Life. Subscribe to This Naked Mind on KZread - goo.gl/ZJQAZ8.
In addition to Laura’s story and the book, they share thoughts about the “third door,” Alcoholics Anonymous, spiral dynamics, and fear. And, they may or may not make each other cry.
Let me ask you a question. What is better than change? Lasting change, of course. If you've had trouble making change stick, either with alcohol or in any other area of your life, you are in for a treat. I created the 100 Days of Lasting Change to ensure that we don't just change for a moment, but we truly transform for a lifetime. This program is so close to my heart. Thousands of people have been through it, and their results are incredible. But don't take my word for it, check it out at thisnakedmind.com/100days.
As always, rate, review and subscribe to this podcast, as it truly helps the message reach somebody who might need to hear it today.

The book is awe inspiring. 15 days sober today....and I am reading it, and find myself re-reading and re-reading paragraphs and chapters over and over. It’s my absolute BIBLE right now. It’s saving my life. Thank you Laura.

In the middle of reading the book now! I can relate on so many levels! I've never heard of the third door, but wow that's what I was looking for too in my early days of becoming AF. (proudly 1 1/2 years AF thanks to Annie!) For those who have not read it, it is so accessible. You'll say me too often. So grateful for you two women. Can't wait to meet Laura 1/15 at her book signing in Brookline!

Struggling here!!! 14 days and bored and really really wanting to drink! Had a surgery and recovering but struggling to not drink even though I know it will slow the healing process for me! But hanging on one day at a time!

Just preordered the book on audible. Can relate to Laura’s story so much, have a few months sober under my belt but find inspiration from you ladies. Thanks for sharing your demons too so publicly, it really helps ease the shame n self hatred knowing it is the addiction and not my true self. It eases the regret. Thank you

It always shocks me how irritating being sober is… Everything is so frustrating and topsy-turvy… But also, how beautiful life is...the almost unbearable beauty of life...that has been my struggle, so beautiful 🥹

It seems people that have more of a victim mentality like being called “alcoholic” because it shits the blame outside of themselves. It goes along with the disease concept -- like they “caught” something. You’re views are empowering and people that want to remain victims will have trouble at first taking responsibility for their lives.

Yes, I have believed that to be true as well. What I want is the truth, my truth, not to be labeled with a disease concept, that, to date, is a medical fallacy. There is also no such scientific term as alcoholism any longer. The twelve steps are based on a Christian Fundamentalist perspective and group. I feel that AA should be more transparent about that.
