    I always love watching you both--you are so calm and sweet. Congratulations to Claudia for the gift of that beautiful yarn! Diana, your red Flax is adorable! I made myself one of those and I love it--although, in fingering yarn it seemed to take forever! I have Knit Companion and the Tin Can Knits App on my phone, but I don't have an IPad, so I don't use them much. Kaity, your sweaters are going to be gorgeous! I purchased 3 Advent sets (!!), so I am knitting an Ambah O'Brien pattern with one from JEMS Luxe Yarn, the pattern that came with the Fuzzy Goat box (Emma's yarn), and the last one from Royal Bee I'm just oohing over the yarn and goodies. I finished my holiday knitting of slippers for my family, so I'm knitting for myself now--the 2 Advent shawls, the Beachy Keen Shawl and a Clarke Pullover. Have a blessed holiday with your families!!

    Diana, it’s good to see you looking so well. I do hope you’re feeling stronger. I’ve got two Ingrid slipovers one my needles which need to be knitted for Christmas gifts. One needs to be finished by 18 December to get in the post/mail. The other by 26 December. I’m still hopeful that I can get them done! Emjoy celebrating Emmanuel - our God is with us this Advent, Diana and Katie. 💝

    Diana - when you wrapped the Purls counter clockwise, you were creating twisted stitches. But then when you knit that stitch TBL (on the reverse side) the stitches became untwisted.

    Congratulations to the winner of the Ranunculus KAL. Such beautiful sweaters. Kaity, your daughter is so sweet at her knitting. I hadn’t seen the video on IG so I paused the podcast to go take a look. Diana, I think I am still “refining my knitting.” Happy Holidays to both of your families.

    Katie when my sleeves feel to short or I’m cold I pop on my fingerless mitts and wear them as wrist warmers. I love it so much I made several pair. I don’t have thumbs just an opening so it works perfect. My favorite are my stripes mitts they match everything.

    Thank you for sharing! 💜 I’m long limbed and almost all store bought tops leave my wrists out in the cold and looking odd. I often roll up a cuff, but that’s not great when chilly out. This is such a great idea, but it just never occurred to me. I may even have stash yarn from scarves or shawls so can now have matching wrist warmers. 🎉

    Enjoyed this so much. Diana, have you lost weight? Either that or this ranunculus is quite slimming on you. Motivation to make it! I finally at least got the pattern, but missed the KAL. Katie, I don't know how you find time to make all of the beautiful things. I just watched my 3 grands for four days and I was completely worn out. I had no time for anything. I am still recovering four weeks later! ha (I raised six and am wondering how I did it, but you are amazing!)

    I was binding off a ‘scrappy’ blanket for my granddaughter’s birthday while watching today. It was 220sts on US 8 and I’m approaching the end. I held fingering scraps with a single strand of Cascade Heritage in the color Snow. She’ll be 9 in two weeks and I finally stopped knitting at 5’ ( 50”wide x 60” long)!! When I’ve knit for her, which is often, I send along the remaining yarn and written instructions/dimensions/needle size etc. I don’t need to store and when my DIL and Son decide they’d like me to make something longer, which is mostly the case, they just return the item with all of the information. It makes it very easy for me. Loved the podcast and may knit her a Ranunculus in the spring. Have a wonderful week!❤

    Thank you so much for taking the time to share your projects, you both make a great team. Kaity, I have a question, how did you add the short rows to the lower back of the sweater. I too, am long waisted and would love to add the short rows to my next Ranunculus😊

  • @thefruitfulhands

    @thefruitfulhands

    7 ай бұрын

    I’ll ask Kaity, I believe she just knits from the center back to a certain width and then turns and creates a turn stitch for short row and purls back to center back then purls the same amount past center back then turns work, creates Short row turn and then either knits 5 stitches past last short row stitch or before and repeats. I’m sure that’s clear as mud…..we will discuss in next episode!! Sorry, I haven’t done that personally unless the pattern called for it so I’m not sure, I’ll check it out and we will include it in the next podcast. ❤Diana
