She has so much wisdom during her self reflection comments. Jees I just love her raw, humble honesty. I am so glad that she saw where her actions came from and grew from them. Not many people actually do this in life.

Came here to say this also, I do think there was a level of confidence tnough that came from realizing that she needed to be tough and not really give a fuck what people thought or said about her especially in the show. It might have been a defense mechanism, but it can be necessary during such a vulnerable time where kids can be so mean. She also grew up in Chicago, so I totally understand her personality even more now that I live there lol. It’s weird though I feel like as a teen when the show first aired mtv wanted girls to relate to lauren more. Now as a 32 yr old I definitely identify more with Kristen.

It's very refreshing, but it's also frustrating that it's one-sided. To say the Cabo incident is all Stephen needs to apologize for is kind of ridiculous after how S1 ended with him running off with the Lauren, which was in the works long before MTV entered the picture. We don't have a clue what happened over there, and seeing how he is very insecure about ANYTHING Kristin says (see limo convo), I believe it wasn't just friendship, and Kristin basically says during their last meeting in S2 he was at fault for his behavior but doesn't push it. He was at fault, and that's not fair for her to not get a moment of yeah, Stephen, you did hurt me, and it's not cool. She shouldn't take responsibility for everything, but I feel week after week that's how it goes, and I want to see some accountability on his end too because that wasn't just MTV.

Even though that's pretty much how the podcast debuted (w/him blaming everyone else but him), I don't know why I'm still waiting on him to say you know what, I was f*cking up too and I'm sorry for that. We were in love and I'm sorry about the part I played in hurting you. Kristin, doesn't back down from it at all. Even while he keeps throwing these cheap jabs at her, and tbh I'm sick of it. It makes me look at him differently. All these years later, at almost 40 years old, and you refuse to take responsibility for your actions as a teenager.Is he doing it because he can't/won't admit it or is it because of the current gf thing and he's trying to paint a certain picture? Whatever the reason, it's tired.

Also, yes it was high school, but Jason was already an addict at that point and was so awful to Jessica. No judgment of him, he has definitely grown and learned but how was Jessica supposed to handle that at 16 years old? She was so confused, that's what happens when you are continually gaslit by the person you love. But I don't think Jason's actions are funny or light spirited in any way and I don't think it should be glossed over just because he was a "cool" guy or because you like him now, as an adult. He was emotionally abusive to Jessica and I bet she felt long term repercussions from that and it shouldn't be made light of

I honestly don't think it's that deep because she allowed it to happen again when he was with Lauren although Lauren didn't even think that was her karma for what she did to Kristin, which is truly unbelievable to me. If Jess hadn't gone back to him again, I would say you are right, but I think a lot of them NOT just Kristin were game playing. I think those two were a lot about the physical attraction and not much beyond that, and that had nothing to do with drugs. We all have those relationships where it's just oh, we just have insane chem, but there's nothing really beyond that, and I think that's why I don't get too upset about the whole thing. The person gaslit here was Kristin if you really look at the big picture, but I digress because no one wants to think about that or the way S1 ended and S2 with this puppy dog eyes mess while the world was watching her look ridiculous. She deserves an apology for that. Jason wasn't the only one hurting people nor was Kristin, and Kristin's behavior stems from watching someone two-timing her calling it friendship. If SHE had done that same behavior to him, do you think he would even be doing a podcast with her? I think not. There's no inextricable proof on her end that she cheated on him for the world to see, and then, he ran off with that same person calling each other BFFs, so she's not allowed to question it although she did in their final sweet moment in S1. Then, he gets to come back and say he's so hurt, but if he thought for ONE second their pact included him running off with LC...

Jessica is married with 4 kids I think she is doing just fine from a short term relationship in high school with Jason. Jessica should have left that relationship. As she kept messing around with Jason while he was with Lauren.

@@Moefurryfriends I'm glad she has a family but that doesn't mean she didn't face challenges or long lasting hurt from being in a co-dependent, toxic relationship. She was a victim of emotional abuse and also co-dependent which often go hand in hand. She had low self esteem. So, of course she should have left him and then left him alone but she didn't have the tools at the time, just like he didn't have the tools to deal with his addiction.

Dude....Jason was gaslighting Jessica so bad in that scene. I felt so bad for her.

Omgsh that’s the first thing that came to mind! But it sounds like it wasn’t nothing serious, or never grew into anything - which is why they probably never mentioned it. Also it sounds like Laguna literally shared everyone 😂 Didn’t Kristin say she and Jason kissed before? Like they all shared each other at some point 😂

Why do you think Kristin shut down? That's it right there. She even finally says something to him at the end of the season but drops it. I think Kristin is the kind of girl that won't face something until she's forced to do it, and then, that manifests itself in bad behavior, and Stephen literally HEARD her talk about Lauren when they were romantic right before leaving but was dead, dumb and blind to WHAT she was truly saying from the heart.

@@ell4875 That's not what I meant. She clearly wanted to be committed to Stephen even back then, and then, he goes off with the interloper, so she shut down after that. I don't blame her. I would be the same way. It's a defense mechanism, and she clearly knows what adult love is when she was married for a long time with children. Everyone is a work in progress, and I like that she admits it versus the one who refuses to admit any faults or humble themselves. That just turns me off and shows you are hiding something.

@CT we all are aware of how she was, ever since we watched it as it aired. We know. But he brings up that " elephant" over and over while she takes it like a champ and owns up to it and apologizes over and over. How many times she has to say sorry for her youth for him to get over it, idk. He hides behind all the finger pointing with jokes and laughing but it's so obvious he's still hurt about high-school lol.

Kristin I just have to say, I have so much respect for you especially after listening to this podcast. I wasn't a fan back in the Laguna days because of the way MTV portrayed you, but watching Very Cavallari completely turned that around. I feel like we finally got to see the real you and I was so inspired by you on that show too running your own company. Listening to you reflect on Laguna is so refreshing, you're so real and honest and you have grown SO much. Big respect to you and such a fan over here 💜

It’s sad to me that the comments are saying how wonderful Kristin was. I am a psych professor & she was NOT. It breaks my heart that some of y’all say you were her or ARE her. She is textbook daddy issues & projection. I am so proud of her for admitting that too; that takes so much courage & growth to do.

I feel like Stephen is still a bit hurt from their past together. He seems a bit hard on Kristin in moments, as if he hasn't totally healed and I feel like she's a really good sport about it! Maybe they should have a chat off camera ha... or off pod.

I HONESTLY miss my Sidekick sooooo much!! I loved it!! Too bad Microsoft had to go unalive Danger and the Sidekick. I still have some of my old Sidekicks and I'll look at them and wonder how the heck I was so addicted to that teeny tiny screen now that I'm on a 6.7 in screen! LOL

Yeah I hate to say it, but Stephen does come off as butthurt about the past lol. He doesn’t own up to his f boy behavior to the capacity that Kristin owns up to her mistakes.

Also curious if the relationship between Jason and Jessica was real at all. Outside of hooking up with her he really didn't seem to be in a relationship whatsoever. She definitely seemed to want it. Jason never really seemed to be anywhere he actually was. Assuming he was drinking a lot or high on something half the time.

I thought Talan said “ I would be with Kristin but she won’t be with me.” I thought he meant Kristin won’t fully commit to me but I would be with her even though she’s not all in with only me.

I remember rewatching this episode, and I noticed thinking that Taylor seemed drunk. She kept slurring her words and her eyes looked very off, so funny that mentioned that! 🤣

Not that I wasn't Team Kristin before the podcast, but the way you get piled on week after week, Kristin, I give you so much credit. I am hear screaming for you every week not happy about it and not happy about the omissions but the confessions that don't even relate to the show (really the Jessica thing had to be mentioned on air) or zero about what really happened in San Fran with Lauren. I really thought we were past this behavior and had a therapy session a few weeks ago. I mean... I don't think she's the only one at fault here not by a long shot, and Kristin is such a refreshing person being so real and raw with us. I appreciate it, and I always got you, Kristin. I never saw you as anyone except a real person who was hurt ESPECIALLY after you made the "pact" with Stephen and were basically telling him EVEN in that convo that's not kosher running off with that girl aka Lauren (who would be OKAY with that Stephen). She was saying it without saying it, but he wasn't listening. I just watched that scene and the last one you shared together on the show, and it was obvious why you were acting the way you were. Maybe you should watch that too, Stephen. Those scenes are a window into Kristin's S2 behavior. She was in pain, and that wall was up so high you couldn't pull it down again because of your actions this time not hers. IF Stephen wants to bring up before that and get upset, fine, I guess he has a point (but we only hear his side of it), but we all saw how seriously Kristin wanted it to work before he went off to college, but then, wait, MTV gives you this fairytale romance BS with the end of the season with those two, and who in their right mind is going to trust that person after that on top of the other already questionable behavior throughout S1? I know he loved her, so I will never understand that at all. Did the insecurity run so deep that you had to keep punishing Kristin? I mean if you put a label on it like that and say I was still hurt and lashing out and deeply insecure over the past, then, I could say, okay, fine, thank you for being honest, but we don't even get to hear that. Put yourself in her shoes watching that MTV or no MTV because that was already gonna happen as Lauren said you were following HER there. I see you are already gearing up to excuse V-day episode though. lol They made you give out flowers and don't forget the CHOCOLATES because CHOCOLATES say I love you. lol Then, of course, he will play Kristin broke my heart in San Fran after that. lol I mean the writing is on the wall because Kristin you are not allowed to be the one in pain ever about his actions, and that's as clear as Lauren's desire to break you two up. Another thing I thinking about was how sneaky Lauren was first making that tape of music for Stephen, and THAT same music playing during the show. Well, isn't that just romantic? I mean that's really sneaky moves, and it proves what Lauren's motives were from beginning to end, which I will never be a fan because that's straight up shady behavior and wasn't fair to Kristin. How do WE know that just started with senior year? I have this feeling it didn't, and that my friends might be a whole story we'll never hear fully because it seems MOST of the Lauren part of the equation mysteriously never gets mentioned. I wanted to mention how cute it is that the guys are moving to Nashville. It's nice to see this little reunion, and maybe more will come too in the future. Talan was adorable last week, and to see him so at peace with everything and not resenting you (hint hint) but sticking up for you was lovely. As frustrated as I am at times by Stephen, I am still very much enjoying it. Kristin, you keep doing your thing girl, but you can't put your issues with your father on yourself after S1. I won't let you do that because at that point in time, the tables had turned, and you deserve the apology now, and someone needs to humble themselves about that behavior.

I know this is so weird and so random but I just really wish that the same way we got to know and open over the years to know Laurens life after Laguna Beach I wish we got a chance to know Kristen a little bit more more of how she lived in LA when she came back after Heidi Spencers Wedding where she worked at, I would’ve loved to see that

Stephen seems so immature. He gives off big “I peaked in high school” vibes. Like dude is still SO butthurt over what Kristin did in high school. Get over it, you were kids. She’s a mother of 3, I don’t think she’s worried about it. It’s annoying that she has to keep apologizing over and over and over in every single episode and taking all these hits, and making Stephen look like some kind of wounded angel, when he wasn’t perfect either.

@@smellslikefreespirit for all we know this is one of the only times he's ever rewatched the series so that could explain why it appears he's still processing it. He talks a lot more than Kristin and goes into far more BTS, I think he's just an excellent podcaster. And there's nothing wrong with apologizing to someone that you hurt or wronged, or owning up to personal growth, no matter the time that's passed 🤷 Kristin irks me sometimes but I think her reflection on her high school personality was wise.

I need to know more about how Stephen and Jessica were together. If they actually hooked up she definitely should have brought it up to Kristin 20 years ago!

I was exactly like you in highschool Kristen. I was a game player and a heart breaker. I took did and still di have a horrible relationship with my father. I didn't live with my mother in highschool. I so desperately needed love and attention and I had so many boyfriends and hook ups and I never found what I was looking for. The difference is I ended up severely heartbroken after my first real boyfriend of a year broke up with me. And he did that bc I played so many games with him I was such a bitch and I broke up with him just hurt him and have that control. It's so bizarre. I was si depressed for a year. Then after that I had another serious boyfriend and you'd think I'd learn my lesson but I did the same shit to that guy and in the end he broke up with me and again I was so depressed. And now I know it stems from my father. Now I've been single 8 years and have no interest in ever being involved romantically again.

I was not a fan of Cedric, they just made it seem like he was this sidekick that followed Jason around. He always had really rude things to say about Jessica throughout the season.
