Ep 2 Ranchi to Patratu | Patratu Lake | Palani Waterfall | Tribal Food at Ajam Emba |Jharkhand Tour
Ranchi is famous for waterfall, old temples, It is the capital city of Jharkhand, we came for a 4 day tour of Jharkhand,
If you are visiting jharkhand during october time you will experience pleasant weather. During our tour we experienced rainfall in some areas. Which was making it a good time to explore the city and its surrounding natural beauty, like the stunning waterfalls in the area.
Ranchi to Patratu - 45 km
Date of journey - 2nd Oct 2023
Below are the activities we did during this day.
Shri Jagannath Temple - we started our day by visiting this temple, it is dedicated to lord vishnu, the architecture of this temple somewhat similar to the temple in Puri, but it is not that big. It is an ancient temple of 1691.
Dhurwa Dam - Then we proceeded towards patratu, we stopped by dhurwa dam to see the natural beauty. It It is a significant water reservoir serving both as a water source and a recreational spot for locals and tourists. This dam is constructed across the Subarnarekha River.
Lunch at Ravi Hotel - We had mutton bhat, this dhaba is located on the highway.
Patratu valley view - We wanted to see the view, but due to cloudy weather & rain, we couldn't see the view.
Patratu Lake - This is an artificial lake, surrounded by hills. We took a speed boat ride - Rs 750 per person, you can do jet ski, boating at this place.
Palani Waterfall - We took an auto to reach this waterfall, the distance is about 2.5 to 3 km.
Dhuska - We had a famous delicacy of Jharkhand, one of the street vendors near marwadi school at Pustak Path. Dhuska & Barra.
Ajam Emba - It is a traditional restaurant which serves tribal food of jharkhand. Non Veg platter - Rs 750 & Veg Platter - Rs 550.

Listening to this Ma'am, and the way ahe explained the indigenous food items somehow made me teary eyed. She is so soft spoken and humble. My country is so beautiful with her riches. Thank you Sir for bringing such wonderful people to the forefront. Otherwise a person like me would have never known the treasures of India.
We used to travel by bus from Doranda to HEC to see football matches played between HEC & team from Calcutta in seventies , those were the days when World was young

Dhuska looked nice outside Marwari school. Simple nd nice breakfast. Bhalla looked little oily but taste nice.

*Yes it is very beautiful surrounded by 8 to 10 waterfalls, also the temperature is lesser then other northern cities except Himalayan foothills, it is due to altitude of chotanagpur plateau*

It felt so amazing to see someone exploring the authentic jharkhandi food! Unfortunately,It is so underrated and unexplored , but offers the most simple , healthy, amazing delicacies. So happy to see some one trying teknus mushroom which has been my favourite,( you cant like any other mushroom after you ve eaten this ) and maad saag (again i love) baskaril, ...makes me feel so good to see these food items ! Kudos to the lady for showing the actual authentic food of jharkhand and even educating us on the benefits ! The seasonal beng saag , konar saag! Did not like the taste of beng saag in childhood, but love its presence here. The world is still unaware of the power of dhuska which is so amazing!!! I feel so delighted to see this video on jharkhand! At least somebody showed the authentic jharkhandi food, otherwise in other videos its mostly the same food items as litti chokha ,kachori ,and all. Loved this wholesome video!
