Bangladesh has existed as an independent country only since the late 20th century, its national character within a broader South Asian context dates to the ancient past. The country’s history, then, is intertwined with that of India, Pakistan, and other countries of the area. The land of Bangladesh, mainly a delta formed by the Padma (Ganges [Ganga]) and the Jamuna (Brahmaputra) rivers in the northeastern portion of the Indian subcontinent, is protected by forests to the west and a myriad of watercourses in the centre. As such, it was long the inaccessible frontier beyond the north Indian plain and therefore was home to a distinctive regional culture. In early times a number of independent principalities flourished in the region-called Bengal-including Gangaridai, Vanga, Gauda, Pundra, and Samatata, among others. In the 14th century Shamsuddin Ilyas Shah was instrumental in unifying many of these principalities. The Mughals added more territories, including Bihar and Orissa (now states of India), to constitute Suba Bangalah, which the British colonial administration later called the Bengal Presidency. In 1947, when British colonial rule ended, a downsized province of Bengal was partitioned into East Bengal and West Bengal. East Bengal was renamed East Pakistan in 1955, and in 1971 it became Bangladesh.

এখনও কিছু বাংলাদেশী আছে যারা এই মামলায় পাকিস্তানের সাপোর্ট করে ,,আর হিন্দুস্তানের নামে খারাব শব্দ ব্যবহার করে। আমার মনে হয় তাদের বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস ঠিক মতো জানা নেই, পাকিস্তানের আর্মি আর পাকিস্তানের সাধারণ মানুষের ব্যবহার খুবই নিন্দনীয়, অমানবিক,,কোন সভ্য সমাজের লোক কখনো পাকিস্তানের এই নির্মম নির্যাতনকে মেনে নিতে পারবে না।

In 1952 (21st February) we were the first people who sacrificed their life for the sake of our mother tounge Bangla. Later on UNESCO declared 21st February as the International Mother Language Day in 1999 (17th November) to remember the sacrifice made by bengalees of then East Pakistan.

Thank you for sharing the story sir. I respect you a lot but there are some information which are not fully true. Yes Indian army helped us but that was during the ending of the war. East Pakistan had formed their own force which was called Mukti-Bahini. Mukti Bahini got their training from India. And in the end Mukti Bahini and India Army formed a new force and named it Mitro(friend) - Bahini. Great respect to all the Indian armies who sacrificed their life for us. And great respect to the 30 lakh martyrs of our county. May Almighty bless their souls 😥

Sir I respect you but you have shared a partially wrong incident which insults thirty lakh martyred of Bangladesh. My grandfather and my father were freedom fighters, my grandfather lost all his 6 brothers in fighting with Pak Army. Indian army helped us but that was in ending time of war they came to Bangladesh when Pak army wanted to surrender. The truth was Pak Army was going to surrender to Mukti Bahini as they lost a huge number of soldiers while fighting Mukti Bahini. Yes, Mukti Bahini were armed and trained by the Indian Army. India demands in newspaper, movies and in Wikipedia that it was Ind-Pak war which is disrespect to Bangladeshi people, the martyred and the girl's/women who got raped.

its worthless now brother you cant trade it or sell it...…...Kohinoor...……..first founded by a gadareya guy in the mountain of afganistan then his kids used to play with that fed up with that stone and got bored then one day somebody visited his house and saw that it precious so he asked lamb guy to sell it and he just gave it for free because it was just a stone for him...…...and then it passed on to several kings again and again then at last ended up in the hands of Sikhs then they lost 2 wars with british then they took it and put that on the top of queens crown after destroying half of that stone by king for better looks,shape or shine...………...its only a showpiece nowadays does not matter who got it...………...that was all
