Quick question. If the speaker company rates a speaker at full range and we use them in a home theater set up crossed over at 80hz and above with the subs doing the heavy lifting on the bass 80hz and below wouldn’t that effect the numbers?

Your English is fine! The higher the sensitivity the louder the speaker is per watt. So it's louder on less power.

I need to redo it as some the info about the Xbox and its atmos setting wasn't correct. I don't want to spread anything thats not accurate. The results of that episode is that when the avr is allowed to upmix with dsu its much more aggressive vs the Xbox upmixing with averages of 3db louder and almost 6db louder peaks.

The sensitivity of a speaker is where I've always questioned. There has to be a reason why most speakers from all the name brands have a low sensitivity anywhere from 86-89db. I believe the highest sensitivity I've seen from a name brand would be from Ascend Acoustics. I was always under the impression that speakers with high sensitivity is a red flag. Maybe I've been wrong but why are they so rare with good speakers if it would be a great selling point? There has to be compromises to sound detail and overall quality of the speaker if they have high sensitivity I believe.

Some high sensitivity speakers can sound very good but for years poorly designed PA speakers gave them a bad wrap as well as some of the lower end klipsch. Usually the tweeter limits sensitivity as domes and ribbons for instance have a low sensitivity compared to a compression driver found in most high sensitivity speakers. Domes and ribbons have wider dispersion and don't rely on a waveguide so you can't have it all as all designs have limits in some way. Some really great sounding high sensitivity speaker kits can be found at diysoundgroup.com. I currently have high sensitivity speakers but in the next theater I'll be using domes as I just don't listenoud enough to need high sensitivity.

A speaker with 26hz to 24khz response and 90db sensitivity, and another speaker with 32hz to 21khz response and 97db sensitivity. Which one I would choose??

IMO the upper end of those is irrelevant. Most of us can't even hear 20k. Down low IMO we should be crossing to subs. Sensitivity wise many manufacturers lie. I'd look for 3rd party measurement to see which is the better designed speaker. See ep 4 to understand how to select speakers.

With klipsh speakers you need to remove like 6 to 8db from the rated sensitivity. 98db and 128 watts are 119db/1m. I bet that those small woofers can't do 119db/1m at 40hz not even at 80hz. Lets not talk about their "max" power. Max power is always 2x the nominal power. This is the standard but they just swapped the 2x with a 4x for better numbers. Those speakers look on paper to be better then most DJ, party, weeding speakers (PA) in terms of loudness. I have a 15 inch PA subwoofer (not used for anything than party music) that is rated to go down to 32hz and it can barely reach 120db levels at 1m ( i have an actual SPL meter to prove that). The limiter on the amp starts flashing, that's a 750w amp (on spec) on a PA 15 inch subwoofer and those small klipsh should sound as loud as that.

Yeah they have been caught way over rating speakers but I didn't really want to get into it too much but just recommend finding 3rd party measurements. There's some eye opening stuff out there to be found.
