Ep. 14: I'M QUITTING MY NEW JOB AS A REGISTERED NURSE

Ойын-сауық

Hi guys my name is George and this is my 14th KZread video! I think the video title is pretty self explanatory. Nurse burnout is a real thing. Short staffing is a real thing. Stress and anxiety are all real things. If you are not happy with somthing, then do something about it. Hope you guys enjoy!

I feel you! I went from 6 years med/tele to ER thinking I would love it but after 2 months I realized it is not for me & giving me the most anxiety I’ve ever experienced as a nurse. Thank goodness my manager was understanding & gave me a reference in the same hospital but as a float nurse instead. Nursing is hard!

Please don’t quit nursing just because you made the mistake of working in a hospital. There are so many nursing jobs available in need of nurses, outside a hospital setting. I never made my nursing career in a hospital setting and the jobs I had going back to 1980 were quite rewarding except for the first job which the facility deliberately created staff shortages for profits. Workplace bullying and mobbing is a thing most nursing jobs outside the hospital will not tolerate. It’s unprofessional, counterproductive and it creates a non conducive working environment and staff turnover, while increasing the risk of liability issues. When it comes to the health care industry, working conditions in today’s hospitals are at ground zero.
