Ep. 129 | Unscheduled Rant

You never think it's going to happen to you...
As owners of a Home Care business, we see all too often hospitals failing to help families make the transition from hospital to home. When it happened to one of our own, we were able to see this happen from a more intimate perspective, and cemented for us even more so that if you do not do your research ahead of time and know what SHOULD be happening, it's even easier for you to end up in a tragic situation.
Join us this week for an unscheduled RANT, all in an effort to help make sure this doesn't happen to you.

I also found that hospitals won’t bill the VA, even though they’re dealing with a veteran, because they know they can get medicare to pay faster. In dealing with my uncle, I finally had a breakthrough through the VA social worker and through her was able to link up with Epaga for his last months, but whereas hospice has been great in other areas, the one out of plains left a nasty taste in my mouth. One even scheduled a doctor’s appointment that would have thrown him off the program because he was on palliative care and at his age his condition was not treatable. The hospice worker had to have known that scheduling such an appointment was wrong but did it anyway and they weren’t even a medically trained person.

We experienced a lousy social worker with Clark Fork Valley Hospice/hospital. I would never send a loved one through that hospice.
