Ep. 10: Tracy Lawrence - In the Aisles w/ Derek Bieri
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
You never know what-or who-you’ll run into In the Aisles. In this episode, Derek from Vice Grip Garage talks to long-time country recording artist Tracy Lawrence. Hear Tracy talk about his favorite stuff to sing (and to listen to), the part he couldn’t find anywhere in town until he stopped by an O’Reilly Auto Parts store, and his own venture into podcasting: “Everybody’s got a story to tell.” You might even hear about what it’s like to hunt feral pigs from a chopper in west Texas.

I always wanted one of the people he asks about to show up, like “ I wonder what Tracy Lawrence is doing these days” enter Tracy, “ did, you call me?”
Look what we did Derek! We found out what Tracy Lawrence was doing😂 Congrats brother perserverence pays off❤
I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard Derek say; I Wonder What Tracy Lawrence Is Doing Today, while he’s wrenching on something on his Vice Grip Garage channel! It’s great to see he knows what Tracy is doing on this day!
Two national treasures having a sit down. Boy a feller is lucky to watch this.
We need more of these interviews with Derek and 80's & 90's country singers...because like Derek I often wonder what the Kentucky Headhunters are doing? or Dwight Yoakam, or Doug Stone, or Little Texas, or Restless Heart.....

@@RedneckHillbillyGnR I'm more worried about Joe Biden kicking his dog.
Anyone else immediately look up Tracy's greatest hits, then crack a cold snack, sit back, listen and remember what life was like when the world was sane? Asking for a friend...
Tracy Lawrence is one of my all time favorites. He’s an unbelievable talent.
We need the rescue of the 1980 Corolla. Let’s get her back on the road Derek!
Time marches on. And it does. So many things have changed in all our lives. Stay golden pony boy. ❤
Saw him back in the 90s great show didn't realize how many songs Iiked of his
I live in middle TN and I can tell you TL ain't lyin' about Birmingham. Seeing him in the smaller venues is my favorite!
Listen to his radio show every weekend
I needed to listen to this today. I’ve been very depressed. I just started working for O’Reilly Auto Parts again actually. Life’s been rough. You inspired me to say why not to a buddy who’s been asking me to go work for them at the local store. But man, trying to balance work and homes been extremely hard. Hearing how he gives back to the less fortunate warms my heart! ❤ I miss being home with my kids but we gotta afford them bills! Your videos inspire me to keep on. “Your dreams won’t work unless you do” 💪🏻

That is huge to interview a legend in country music, I couldn't believe my eyes when I received this notification, GREAT JOB Derek . I remember well when you said I wonder what Tracy Lawrence is doing today.
WOW.....WOW...and...WOW!!! What an amazing interview. Always wondered what Tracy was up to these days, know I now.
Heck Ya, way to go VGG. Thanks for the interview O'Reilly's
I met Tracy when I lived in Nashville and a couple of girls I knew sang BGV for him. Super nice guy
This was great. Clearly one of your best interviews Derek!
The amount of times that I’ve been working in hay on the farm, in my Wrangler Cowboy Cut Jeans, listening to Tracy Lawerence wouldn’t fit on both sides of a piece of paper. The man is a legend in Country Music, and I know working in hay back in the day wouldn’t be the same without his music. Thank you Tracy for all the memories made with your music right there to tell the stories!
A feller is so lucky to sit down with a guy like Tracy! He is a legend, a icon, and a great human all around! Thanks for bringing us this interview!…… no get back to work!!! 😂
I still buy Tracy Lawrence actual albums I enjoyed this video I've been a fan of Tracy Lawrence since 1991 I was 17 years old back in 1991 when I started listening to Tracy Lawrence's music and I still listen to his music his music has gotten me through so much in my life I'm a single mom my of two sons they were each born to one of his songs he's music has a special place in my heart & always I'm hoping to meet him for the first time to thank him I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for his music & he's got a big heart😊
I’m glad you finally got to interview him Derek. Thanks to both of you for getting this together. Man, I miss the country music of the ‘90’s!!
Love this series, I’m a 71 year old car guy and guitar player. I was 60 before I could afford a hot rod, so I bought a 47 ford truck and rodded it. Now I have a nice C7 corvette. Also have 5 guitars! Love to watch your channel and this one. Keeping me young, keep it up!
Amazing!! This should be a new series!! “ I wonder what _____ is doing?” Love it!! Keep doing what your doing and thank you for taking a chance you have touched many lives as well!
Always nice to see 2 genuine folk having a good ol yak!
Son of a gun. We know what Tracy Lawrence is up today
That would be quite an interesting restoration...I say go for it!!
Very cool he’s one of my old favorites talking with one of my new favorites. Now if a guy could just get his mitts on that old Toyota 😀
Nice interview. Good job Derek. Big fan of Birmingham... ;-)
Time marches on. Favorite Tracy Lawrence tune.
Tracy was and still is, a legend without auto-tune. Pure talent.
LOVE IT! As a writer and singer I love stories like this. I had a chance to go to Nashville in 96 with my co-writer and I stayed in PA. What could have been who knows. I know I have a blessed life, for the last 30 years have sung with awesome players, and have a Life others would love to have.
Excellent. I enjoyed Tracy's music 'back then'. Great to see him on the show. God bless both of you (and America, of course) 😀
Derek you never cease to amaze me. Best 1 yet.
Love Tracy’s music
Big fan thanks
Awesome! Derek made the big time!
Imagine my surprise when Tracy Lawrence said he still gets inspiration from 80's rock and roll. Awesome interview.
Just a GREAT show.
Tracy is one of my all time favorite country artists. Such a great guy with that classic country voice that is like none other.
I was born in 90, and grew up on 90s country and rock...and i can still vividly remember riding in our 80 Z28 and hearing watermelon crawl come on the radio and to this day it's one of my favorite songs ever. We still have that Z28 too, had it since April of 94. Tracy is such a legend and so much of his music is highly underrated.
Tracy Lawrence, what a GOLDEN voice!!
Can't for this one.
Very humbling.....love you Derek and Tracy.....yall are awesome
OMG! Not a huge country fan but def love Tracy Lawrence.
Love this. Tracy will forever be a part of my young adulthood. Loved his music. Great man!!
Super glad you finally get time to have great conversations with these wonderful folks on your pod cast . Thanks Derrick
Wow what a great interview. Thanks Derek.
Excellent conversation! Thank you all.
As someone who comes from a country where country music isn't really played anywhere, I have to admit I'd never heard of Tracy Lawrence apart from in Derek's "I wonder what x" is doing today...It didn't make any difference knowing who he was as it was such an enjoyable interview to watch.
Wow! it was great to see Tracy it has been a long time, Im glad to see him well and still at. Great job Derek! One of your best interviews yet!!
In a strange way this relates to cars for me because honky tonkin with Tracy Lawrence is what i listen to driving home from dirt races.
Wonderful job on asking a question and allowing the guest to answer!
Thanks for the video. I love Tracy. I have been listening to his songs for ever.
I really like Tracy lawerence, he’s pure country and you’ll never take the country out of this guy that’s just who he is.
Nice one, Derek - I was hoping you'd interview people who weren't necessarily "car guys". You've got a knack for interviewing. Get James Hetfield on here - two birds with one stone there, bud!
Thanks for doing this! Tracy is one of my favorites, I wish he were on the radio more. I think you should consider more old country stars, your audience is rooted in them.
At 22 in 1984 I had an '80 Corolla, moved from SC to NYC with it to find my dreams, on the way it broke down 3 times (in Baltimore the freeze plugs failed), but I still made it!
Boy, a Roadworthy Rescue of that Toyota would be amazing to watch. Even if it took an entire season!
Love to see Tracy Lawrence still kickin A..!
I’m not a religious person but appreciate the folks who are and do good things with it . Enjoyed the interview.
What an awesome interview. Derek just is just amazing and Tracy Lawrence is a country legend. I appreciate what they both do to help those that need help. Great job Derek, Thanks for sharing your time Tracy Lawrence
So neat that Sticks n Stones was mentioned. It is my favorite track of his. Hearing such a personable person tell his story was just a great time. Thank you both so much.
Awesome Job guys! Just saying hello from WA State and thanks very much for sharing this with us! I hope you and your dear families have a wonderful year!
Tracy Lawrence! I can’t believe it! But I’m looking right at him! Lol good job Derek!😂
Derek I love his show road worthy rescue, he's amazing how he brings old car's back to life, and he's funny too how he renames parts
What super nice guy Tracy is. Just seems truly genuine, caring, and humble. 👍
I started following Tracy Lawrence since the early 1990’s. I was able to see him play at county fair in Southern Minnesota and attended a private New Years party at the Opryland hotel. I had an opportunity to attend a concert in the Twin Cities that included Sawyer Brown and if I recall correctly Marty Stewart or possibly Chris Ladoux. His early story is quite unique.
This was flat out cool .
Please please more of this , so intoxicating- love it 😍 🏴🏴🏴
When Tracy started Nashville would still sign a REAL COUNTRY artist. You HAVE to go internet famous anymore to get there if you're actually true country..Love Tracy Lawrence music. Saw him in Mt Pleasant Iowa
I can’t wait for the Toyota revive and drive video. This needs to happen.
One of the best ones yet. TL, I will always be a fan.
That was awesome.... a guy really has made it to the big time.
His music has been a part of my life a long time now. Thanks derek for having him on

How cool was THAT!?!?!!!! Awesome interview, Derek!
My favorite episode hands down been a tracy Lawrence fan since day one
what an amazing man Tracy is,god bless you sir!
That was awesome. I saw him and George Jones live together in Charlotte NC. Best concert ever.
Oh heck yeah! So fun to see Tracy on here!
2 minutes in and was hooked! Very humble man!
LOVE this one. Tracy is a real one, and I've been looking forward to a collaboration with Derek for months!
Good stuff... REALLY good stuff.
The Mrs & I saw him in concert at a small venue in Germany on a USO tour in 98 or 99. Might have been 200-300 people there. It was awesome. Although my wife got tinnitus because we stood RIGHT in front of the speakers
In 1994 I joined an opry style Saturday night show and sang with the houseband. I had won a talent show there previously and was invited to join the show. The very first song I ever sang there, the first song I ever was paid to perform, was Sticks And Stones.! I was paid $50 that night for the 3 songs I performed. lol!!!
Such an awesome interview! Couldn’t ask for two finer fellers.
This is awesome. I've been a rock and metal fan for many years but the first album I bought with my own money was Tracy Lawrence alibis on cassette. Something about that 90s country hits different than the stuff they put out now
Absolutely outstanding interview.
Fantastic episode, I was thinking you would be a good fit to fix Tracy's old Toyota, and then you offered to do just that. Hope it comes to fruition!
I’m a Derek fan. Thank you.
Nice to hear from someone that is still very much a real human being in this insane world that embraces Idiocricy. Remember your raisin............and above all to thine own self be true!!
couldn't ask for a more humble down to earth superstar than Tracy..i've watched some of his podcasts and he is the feller who happened to land his dreams but the fame and money never went to his head ..sounds like another feller i watch .(.*ahem* Derek)..nothin better than watching two country boys shootin the breeze talkin about cars and music and huntin
2 of my favorite things: chevrolet C10s and 90s country music! Awesome job, Derek.
I'll be dipped! A guy has a fella on his pod casty thingamajig!
I enjoyed listening to you and him talk very interesting things he was telling us. I’m only 3hrs from where he grew up at in Arkansas. I also grew up in Arkansas and still live here and all my dads side of the family is from southern Arkansas. I’d like to see you bring on more country artist like creed fisher or frank foster or other artists like that
I'm not a country music fan and I am embarrassed to admit but I had to Google Tracy Lawrence but wow! Great chat between two great people and such positivity.
What an awesome podcast! I’ve been fan of his and yours since day one! Must be such an awesome feeling to interview people you admire!! Great job Derek! And can’t wait to hear the new music when it comes out!!!
Are you freaking kidding me? TRACY LAWRENCE!?!?! AWESOME!
