Ep 10 | Phugtal Gompa - Most Remote Monastery In India (Inside a 2500 Yrs Old Cave) | Zanskar Vlog

Phugtal Monastery Trek - the most common trek to this most remote monastery in Ladakh starts from a village called Purne Village. You can drive upto Purne, stay at the campsite in the village and then start your trek to the Gompa. It usually takes 2-3 hrs for the trek but it's a little tricky trek. You will cross Tserap River and see the Lungnak Valley. There are many stories around when this monastery was built. Few says it was built in the 14th century and a few says it was built in the 15th century. Many also believes the monastery was made 2500+ years ago which is not true. It's the cave that is 2500+ years old inside which the monastery lies. Phugtal monastery is a must visit place during the trip to Zanskar so much that I can say your trip to Zanskar is incomplete without making a visit to the famous Phugtal monastery. The life in the valley still revolves around the monastery and the monks.

What surprised me is the fact that even monks knew Actors like Priyanka Chopra. Also, the way you make your vlogs informative is a blessing for us. Definitely will visit all these places being a responsible traveller.
