I’d have a hard time talking coherently while trying to build as well, so bravo on that. Paint work looked grueling in the pre shade phase, but end result certainly has a wow factor.

Thanks for uploading this, I found it very useful and enjoyable. I never have the nerve to fully commit to a model like you have. I always end up just painting models with a few bits if very of slight color fading ect., I guess I don't want to spoil the models by going too far so my models always look fresh off the production line

Hi Metodi, I'm wondering if you have any reference photos of such paintjob of the upper surfaces? I mean the repainting of the engines. It feels a bit too much unnatural to me, I figure I would never paint a plane like that but that is just my opinion. Your technique is as always masterclass, I love the eastern carpet shading.

  • @MMScaleModels

Hi mate, thank you for your kind words. Here is all the referance I have on this particular aircraft: i.pinimg.com/originals/ea/6e/cc/ea6ecc27647215f6c72b84116effeab2.jpg From these images it is questionable weather or not the top portions of the engine gondolas were repainted. However I found interesting images of airplanes restored in flying condition which show very heavy paint chipping over the engine. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is a problematic area and probably was addressed several times in the life of the airplane. All said, it is a speculation on my side but since no evidence suggests better, I decided to go that route. Besides, with weathering and exhaust staining it will be less of a focal point.

@@MMScaleModels thanks, I can't wait for the final effect after weathering. It will surely be a unique model! P.S. After a lot of struggling with my equipment I decided to buy that fengda 0.2 airbrush you use - it cost me around 20$ and it was the best purchase I've made since I started modelling. Please keep up posting your vids, I've learned a lot from you and I still pick up a lot of great tips from your workshop!
