as a hao stan, I really want to say to him that he deserved all those praises as the result of what he went through years back being a foreign trainee from China to Korea, got trained as the shortest period member of svt, struggling with korean language. he did went through a lot. I really hope he can see that he's loved from Carats all around the world and really do take care of his mental health as svt is getting busier.

Yah, I laughed really hard 🤣 And before that there's Junhui awkwardly laughing because he and Minghao doesn't talk in Korean while there's just the two of them 🤣

I think Minghao already is a person who shines. He really does seem to shine with everything he does. His passion, his drive, his need to achieve perfection, the music he makes, the performances he does, his art, his photography, his style and everything else about him. I will never stop talking about this but Minghao is legit my biggest inspiration. Everything about him makes me wanna do better, makes me wanna learn and enjoy things, makes me wanna enjoy life. It makes me so happy to see that there's a person out there who dreams this big and actually manages to make them a reality. It's so nice to see someone who loves and values themselves so much to continuously wanna do better. I admire him for how he deals with hard times. Watching this made my heart ache and tear up and I wanna give him the biggest hug. But I'm also thankful for him for showing this side of him. Because it teaches you how to deal with hard times in a healthy way and grow from them. I hope he has healed from what he went through or that he will, soon. Thank you for everything Xu Minghao. You really do shine :)

I think just like you. The way he just... Exists is even magical on its own. He has his own kind of aura and that just really shows me that there are beautiful souls out there in this world. I really hope i could be like him in the future, of course not the same but have the same mindset, be a more optimistic and better person than yesterday.

I think it's interesting that Minghao said he was trying to figure out how to make himself stand out among the members because it was just a small gesture of his that caught my attention and made me a huge fan of his. I think he has a quiet but potent presence you can't help but notice: not just as a performer but as a person. To be so young, he also seems quite contemplative and mature. And he is so ridiculously precious in those overalls-I love his sense of style.

I really liked the part where minghao said that people don’t realize that they don’t take time to really understand their emotions. after hearing that I realized that I was doing that and it has almost made me self-destruct (?) idk how to explain it but I felt touched. I feel like in today’s world we think that not being productive is bad and that we take time for ourselves as a luxury.

It is true. Most people neglected their own emotions and going for being productive and doing the actions instead of being reflective too. But I personally experienced that, I can be even more productive when I take the time and sit with my emotions and understands myself better. Thank you The8 for shedding more light into this area of our lives. 😍

That’s how I feel too, that’s why I also believe it helps to have a journal to let it out and not let it get in your head, just as a way of releasing those thoughts. It makes you think that this one day, weeks, months that you felt will motivate you one day to find a new challenge. When you read or look back, those memories may hurt as if you felt that way all over again but it does help you grow over time as well, especially, the feeling of gratitude :) it really does make you appreciate those little moments, good or bad that helps you grow to find yourself.

Agree, I feel like all of us know this at the back of our minds. But Minghao refreshes and (re)emphasizes it for us, and brought it up as an impt point for us to always rmb :)

He's really a sensitive person. I really admire how he view life and how he identified his emotion. I admire his way of life overall. I'm a sensitive person myself, and it's really often when it becomes too much, because we're too deep on our emotions. I'm glad SEVENTEEN's The8 exist even though his parents were against it, I'm glad that Xu Minghao born to this world. I'm glad that I have a chance to know this wonderful man, cherish him, and being a part of fandom that he adore just as much. He doesn't have any idea how grateful I am just because his mere existence, how grateful I am that he helped me through life unconciously. Thank you, Xu Minghao, for letting us see this side of yourself. Thank you for your trust. Always remember to be happy and it's okay to not feel okay.

The fact that he admits to his sensitivities yet is one of the most level-headed and well-composed members out of the thirteen...thank you for showing us the range and depth of ALL of your emotions, Minghao. It's truly an honor that he feels comfortable enough to express his honest self with us. Minghao is both my bias and my ultimate and I couldn't be in more awe of him. He seems to live very intentionally with a very careful rhythm and confidence, it's super inspiring to someone so anxious and unsure like myself. I actually find his words comforting, like sometimes idols might just say things for fanservice but I could really feel Minghao's sincerity here. Keep on glowing, King!

I HIGHLY recommend watching a jun and minghao compilation from the chinese show chao yin zhan ji that they went on. Minghao is a lot more open about his fondness and reliance on Jun, he even said things like "being with him is just a natural part of life, it's a lifestyle". His appreciation for Jun is almost overwhelming haha

It’s because he hit a bit of a wall somewhere around 2016-17 where he felt that his image as an idol (cutesy) didn’t really reflect who he was on the inside and who he wanted to be as an artist. That’s when he began to read a lot of books and gained a lot of inspiration from them.

late to this comment but hao is a person with such profound thoughts, the way he expresses himself really makes me respect and love him more as an artist and as a person

i love how he's really in tune with his emotions, like he realizes and really feels how he feels at the moment. i love his honesty and sincerity about how he does all that hobbies to feel better about his emotions, to make himself shine more, to let his inner self out. i'm glad that he's opening up more now, how he's willing to be as real as possible to the world. i hope you're always happy and well, xu minghao.

When minghao said "seventeen is my youth and I have everything here"..it literally hit hard.....I sometimes think how difficult it must have been for the foreign line to come in Korea leaving their families behind.... I mean when they are in training that's when they need their families the most right?... But i am happy that all our boys have found home in svt.....

When i watched this I thought minghao is a very ‘warm’ person. You know that color between yellow and orange, that warm color. He is that. He seems to be a very cold and stern but he is a very warm and sensitive person. That’s very interesting to me. I think if we met in another life we would’ve been friends perhaps. I like warm people.

"a time to face myself like how the sky is darkest before sunrise," summarizes the8's life. the dark sky in his life was when he moved to korea, not knowing a single thing about the country's language and culture and having no one by his side that understands him until jun came along, jun was the one who brought a bit of light in his life- someone who he is comfortable with and someone that understands him. his sunrise was when seventeen finally debuted and being successful, all his years filled with struggles and months filled with tears are worth it. he is here as seventeen's the8 and he's grown to be the man we love today.

몇달전부터 세븐틴 팬이 되었고 그 중 최애가 디에잇이에요. 어쩜 아직 어린 나이에 저렇게 사람이 단단하고 생각이 깊을 수 있을까? 아이돌은커녕 연예인에게 조차전혀 관심 없었던 저를 푹 빠지게 한 사람이네요. 정말 배울점이 많은사람.

I relate to him so much. Minghao has such a huge heart, and he's so cautious of his words and actions and others' reactions it comes across as him being cold or calculated. He's such a kind soul. minghao is such a beautiful person. from the way he expresses his love towards others, his unique style of dance, his fashion sense and art capabilities all the way to his cute giggle and accent that i adore when he speaks Korean. he’s one of those people who you just want to wrap in a blanket and shield him from all the bad things in the world. also istg all these intro and outro phrases are gonna be lyrics in songs of theirs

I was hoping my bias's episode would be during the time they were in San Jose (my hometown)! Didn't realize Minghao walked around Downtown during their time there. Was kinda surreal being able to recognize the area he was at, especially the lightrail (train) On a side note, I suppose his recent solo is about his emotional struggles during the last year. I hope he's doing better and find it amazing how well he was able to capture that period and transform it into art the way he did 💕 Ily Minghao

As someone who's been a Carat since their trainee days, I'm so happy to see The8 grow as a person and an artist over the years. He was shy and quiet in the beginning. He struggled to speak fluent Korean as a foreigner coming to Korea alone to pursue his dreams and struggled with a lot of other things and this we know even though he doesn't always talk about it. In recent years he has stand out a lot and he's receiving the attention and appreciation he always deserved. His talents ain't no joke. His contemporary dances and how he could give us a message through it, his voice, his art, his sense of fashion, his dance skills, his personality -everything looks like a masterpiece, a work of art. The8 is such a calm person and for so many reasons I respect him a lot, and you sure do too. He's truly a strong person and even though all of the struggles he's been through is not known to us, we know he's come a long way and he is who he is today because of what he's been through and the love he's received from Seventeen and us. I wish him all the happiness in the world because that's what he deserves and I want him to know that he's truly a great artist, we love and appreciate him and he will always have our support.

"SEVENTEEN is my youth" -The8 - well I just can't help but agreed . Honestly speaking out of this, I think I had spend of my youth along with k-pop . Although there were still long way of my youths to end but I still genuinely happy because of that. Sometimes I do wonder, how would my life changes if I had zero knowledge about k-pop , would I concentrate more on my studies? but, I just want to put it aside and take only positives thing.

아는사람 하나 없이 타국으로 왔으니 처음엔 당연히 적응 못하고 헷갈리고 어렵고 무섭고 그랬을거예요..쉽지만은 않은일인데 결심해서 한국으로 와 세븐틴이라는 별이 되어줘서 너무 고마워요 오빠는 오빠만의 개성이 있는거니까 주위에 신경쓰지 말고 오빠가 가고싶은 길을 편히 걸어갔으면 좋겠어요 명호오빠 사랑해요❤

I love how Minghao's mind works. He's very sentimental and has a strong will-power. I really admire how he holds on to the dark moments in order to create something beautiful out of it. As they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and Minghao is really so tough to be able to do that.

Many of his words resonate greatly with me... He is really someone who thinks and feels deeply. Even when he feels lost, he doesn't shy away from those negative feelings. I want to be like that too because sometimes embracing those emotions are just scary by itself, let alone working through it without adding even more damage..😔 We may not be able to see each other but I want to protect you w my whole heart, dear Minghao

I'm just happy he found peace by doing his meditation and tea ceremony. I could see how he was able to help himself relieve the stress he cannot get out

I'm so happy to see more of Minghao's drawings because I really admire that side of him. Because I really like arts but unfortunately, I'm not that good. But I'm happy to see Minghao drawing and making art, that really inspired me more to draw.

I think this was the episode that hit the hardest for me. Minghao’s passion and free spirit really shows through everything he does: tea ceremonies, painting, drawing, singing, dancing, daily life, etc. He just seems like a friend with whom you can share really good, deep, philosophical conversations and ideas with. I admire and look up to him a lot and I think he’s an amazing person.

We all didn't know that 2019 was just a hard year and time for Minghao :( If only we knew, we could have done so much more in cheering for him. I'm just so happy that despite his struggles, he was able to get pass that by doing what he loves; whether through drawing, painting, designing his clothes, photography, music and dance. Our well-rounder, minghao, it must have been hard but thank you for working so hard and enduring it until the end. We love you 💖💎

Really useful tip for everyone: cut open and lay a trash bags to protect the carpet/floor if you need to do something similar :)

no one: literally: *The8's bones is unbreakable even if he do a circus infront of carats on the stage lol* The8 is such a nature lover♡ he loves walking on the street seeing families, kids, sceneries and even paintings. I think he is an emotionl person on the inside too. His kind of appreciating things and situations is like a type of emotional persons and has lots of problems hiding inside themselves. Wishing that he let Jun know abt his feelings since he said he is close to him. Real friends will always be by your side so enjoy your life, enjoy your youth with Seventeen♡

As an art student, I've always admired Minghao's way of expressing his emotions through his art. Some people don't understand his art, but everything about his art is important to him and shows what he wanted it to. I hope to see more artwork from him because I always love to examine every part of it and learn more about him as I do so.

I genuiely think Minghao is one of the most beautiful on this planet. His soul is so pure and filled with beauty, he can do so many things and express himself in so many ways for the sake of himself, he smiles a lot, hes thoughtful and self reflective, he knows how to deal with things, with his emotions and health and if he doesnt, he relieves all that stress he gets from that in so many different forms, mostly art. He finds beauty in little things, is thankful for the big and small things he tends to be able to do or see, his loved ones are so impoartnat to him, he shows his love in different ways, he expresses himself with different words. He smiles, he gets sad, he struggles, he laughs, and most importantly feels like a human being. He is real, he is him. He is such a beautiful soul with such a gentle heart I think I might cry omg
