True. You need to understand how to drive it. Proton DCT user and owner need to understand the mechanism, if not it will backfire again. Like the old days. Btw, DSG owner here.

I knew for a long time that there are 2 sets of clutch in a DCT but didn't know that there are 2 sets of gears and flywheels etc. I'm still not convinced though or have I misunderstood you.

Will this DCT simulate any idling creep forward like conventional auto?

Hi David ..Question : is it better to disable the Parking handbrake button before driving off or be still okay to to put in D and just drive off straight away without pushing down the Parking handbrake button? Because with some throttle i discovered you can actually just drive off without pushing down the Parking handbrake button

Hi Suresh, It’s ok to just drive off in D with the seat belt on, as it will automatically release the electronic parking brake (even with a tap signal on the throttle is sufficient for the EPB to release). However, try not to give too much throttle during the EPB releasing moment, as this might cause excessive load to the clutches.

@@davidong2898 thanks David i reckoned so too but its kinda odd sometimes it does not move when the above is done accordingly...& i also noticed the same issue with the Autohold too especially in the mornings ..though i dont use it that much.. but just wondering too...

@@davidong2898 not draggy the Autohold very odd does not seem to come on nor function in the mornings.other times its ok The EPB sometimes works when i just drive off without pushing the buton but sometimes..it does not move when i attempt to drive off without pushing the EPB button..also.odd...

When we are in heavy traffic What should be the method to drive the dct without overheating. Should we change it into manual mode.

As long as we drive it without letting the transmisson dragging on clucth for too long on slop and duration, the system should work perfecfly ok.

So now proton ckd x70 is wet clutch or dry clutch?
