🇵🇭 EP.1 แบกเป้เที่ยวฟิลิปปินส์ กรุงมะนิลาวันแรก | First day traveling in Manila, Philippines

I'm a Filipino and I love the realness and rawness of this vlog. At first I felt quite bad cuz you have to experience the poor public transportation and struggles of ordinary Filipinos like me but as I watch this, I feel comfortable and happy that despite the difficult situation in our country, you managed to overcome it and feel amused with some simple things. Also, I'm happy that you're interested to know about our culture and daily life here! I hope you enjoyed your visit here. 🥰 Just a tip: 1. You can pay in the jeep while you're still riding it. Just say "Bayad po! Sa (your destination) lang." (Ex. Bayad po! Sa EDSA station lang) 2. If you already know the place you'll go to, just say "Para po!" beforehand let the driver know that you already reached your destination. 3. Please be careful with your valuables especially your phone. There are many snatchers around the city and you wouldn't know when or where you'll encounter them.. Especially if you are around Manila and it's full of people. 4. I suggest if you won't be able to hold an umbrella, you should wear a cap and sunglasses since it's really sunny here.

I'm Filipino and this is my first time to see a honest, unscripted and relatable vlog about my country philippines 🇵🇭 coming from a real and honest vlogger. honestly, you are a brave for walking on a street during at night haha I dare you to stay away from that kind of road street (dark and lights off) specially at night and don't walk alone cause its very dangerous. limit the uses of your phone while you are walking. Actually, this vlog is very authentic. he is a thai but he is the voice of the real many filipinos who living in the lower and middle class of the society. also theres nothing wrong from what he noticed about the country because its true and he is also honest, unlike the western blogger who always praise only the good side of the country for the sake of views and money.

Hopefully, and it seems, that our surroundings nowadays is much much better that before. I went back to Philippines last 2017 and I was suprised because most people can use their phones or whatever, and wear jeweleries OPENLY. A big change (2017) Ps. It might be that most of the drug addicts in all public places had been killed. And most of things and commodities are reachables now. Walking at night in the Philippines isn't dangerous as you might think unless you're in the specic places in South Mindanao where the rebels are hiding. Crimes in the PH have dropped a whopping 75% since Duterte became the president. I've been living in Metro Manila ever since I was born. The only time it felt dangerous was at night during mid 2000's (local gang days, lots of riots) and early 2010's (drugs, theft, kidnapping days) but mid 2010's (2015-present) was a BIG improvement in terms of safety. I've experience walking every day 10PM on the streets going to the transport terminal to go to work and vice versa like walking at night 11PM going back home. Avoid walking in VERY DARK alleys at night, avoiding very suspicious people, avoiding places that locals don't recommend you to go at night, etc. then you're good. That's the basic of travelling. And I'm talking about the normal streets here, if it's a CBD area then that's no brainer. CBD areas are very safe hence why night life is a big part of those areas.

This vlog is authentic and relatable. The way you view the streets and the dwellers around the area is raw and good for tourist. Atleast majority can prepare on their expectations when it comes to visiting the Philippines. Also, the sun is the greatest enemy of most travelers here. We, local Filos are sick of it, it hinders us to enjoy the day since most of us can only go out at night to prevent the sun that could ruin our outfits and such. Keep this P' your vlog is commendable, have a safe stay here in the Philippines!

Yes Metro Manila is getting too crowded, it has over 13 million residents or 24 million aggregate for Greater Manila with its adjacent urban growing provinces. Those homeless were probably from provinces, or those that got affected by Pandemic. The hostels near airport will demand higher price, there should be cheaper options down South or far North. Metro Manila is big, its conglomerate of 17 Cities, you will surely find something nice that’s within your comfort.

I’ve been to Thailand 7 times and found your video very interesting. Not a lot of ASEANs visit the Philippines and surely much less would travel for cheap to the Philippines. The hostel prices here are frustratingly expensive for the quality, such a contrast to what Thailand offers or even Indonesia. The MRT in Manila is also limited unlike the trains in Bangkok. As for the buses and jeeps, hahaha, I have to say I have the same experience in Bangkok with riding the song thaew and local buses. I can now read Thai but at a very slow pace so it takes me 5 minutes to even make sure that I am riding the right song thaew or bus. Gladly, Grab Bikes are plentiful in the streets of Bangkok and I can enter my destination via the app in English. 7-Eleven food in PH is also not on par with Thai 7-11. Thai 7-11s have much more delicious offerings and they offer a wide variety of food, Western, Indian, and of course Thai and for reasonable prices. I find 7-11s in Thailand on par with 7-11s in South Korea and even Japan. Needless to say, I enjoyed watching Ep.1 of your PH video even if it saddens me to see the poor condition in my country. What I can say is, thank you, and that truly our greatest asset is our people.

The condition of the country isn't "poor," where urban poverty is just at 2% of the Metropolitan area, furthermore, there have been more developments within the Metropolitan area throughout the time, such new metro rails, such as the NSCR, MRT-7, the MRT-4, MRT-5, and MRT-9 the two latter are subways. There are more commercial and tourist districts and CBDs that are being developed within the decade. A lot of people like you are having baseless inferiority complex

Manila versus Bangkok pa lang, very lacking na yung train system natin. Yung presence ng tolls and elevated highways/expressways when travelling between cities in Thailand, di at par yung mga road system natin. I'm from Davao City po. I visit Manila 2-3x a year, Cebu City 1-2x a year, and the cities up north in Luzon once every couple years. I like to travel. Our road systems in the province need drastic improvement. Maybe next time bring some foldable umbrella, a folding fan and bottled water, I am scared you get fatigue by heat! huhuuhu anyway travel safe. ps.
