Ordering cost: The ordering cost is the cost of placing an order, including the transporter. In this case, the ordering cost is Rs. 1200 per order. Carrying cost: The carrying cost is the cost of storing inventory. In this case, the carrying cost is 20% of the material cost, which is Rs. 500 per sack. For 500 sacks, the carrying cost is Rs. 250000. Total cost: The total cost is the sum of the ordering cost and carrying cost. In this case, the total cost is Rs. 251200. Calculation: Total cost = Ordering cost + Carrying cost Total cost = Rs. 1200 + Rs. 250000 Total cost = Rs. 251200 Conclusion: The total inventory cost last year for the building material shop owner in Gujarat was Rs. 251200.
