If the car's steering wheel control is analog signal, You can connect the steering wheel control cable of your car directly to the steering wheel control cable of our car stereo and then refer to the instruction manual to learn the steering wheel controls. If the car's steering wheel control line is a digital signal, you can try to find the converter that converts digital signals to analog signals for the corresponding car model, and use it if you can find it. Just had this installed, however I have found bugs in the firmware... bugs I have discovered *system volume always set at 20, even if lowered to 10 - high volume on start very annoying *sd card not recognized on start - needs to be reinserted after every on/off *incoming calls during wireless android auto causes system to freeze. needing a reset *android auto disconnects after 45 mins or so, may be it needs a fan. I am in a hot climate country. Do you have the latest firmware that addresses the issues above?

Rear USB is for power *only* , not DATA. Password/PIN is given in the manual. *1234* Rear camera trigger input needs to come from the Neutral Safety Switch. Bulb power should only got to the camera itself. And if steering wheel controls are resistive then they are *not* on the CAN Bus. Resistive = analog; CAN Bus = digital.

The price on this unit us is crazy cheap for what you get and the fact that there are physical buttons for volume is a huge plus in my opinion. I have a China head unit I got on Amazon for $185 plus a camera but there are no physical volume buttons and that car doesn't have steering wheel controls so it more difficult to change the volume than I would like. Thanks for the reviews on these value priced units, I watch all of them.

I just wish it was a knob, easier to adjust the volume with a knob.

The DSP and HPF/LPF for the doors are amazing. The only downside is the lack os Front and rear pre out separation, and the boot time is a little slower than atoto f7

You can use a relay to activate the camera sense. A simple fog light relay would get this done.

This Head Unit works great and fast, BUT the volume at startup is set to 20.. that’s very loud! Is there an hint to set the default volume?

Hi, thank you for your review. I recently purchased the X20plus for my Sienna and have learned something a bit frustrating about that head unit. While it does have a subwoofer output and I see the DSP LPF and HPF features, according to Eonon, the LPF and HPF work on all outputs and all outputs are the same. Normally you would want to apply a LPF to your Subwoofer and an HPF to everything else but apparently you cannot do that. Not sure what the use case is for the HPF and LPF features. I'm thinking I'll install a separate amplifier just for the subwoofer and many car amplifiers have built in HPF and LPF and I guess I'll have to depend on that to separate out the high frequencies from my sub. I just don't know why you would ever use the X20plus' built in HPF and LPF.

I figured out steering wheel controls for this unit. I wired the input for my swc directly from the clockspring to the headunit and grounded the other side and it detects them whats weird is thr settings menu detects it every time but when using the stereo it's 50 50 if it will registered

Hello, is everything ok with the radio? Was it installed on a Saab 9-3? Does the steering wheel control work without additional adapters? It was necessary to install the Amp high to low passthrough (to prevent hissing). Thank you

I’ve got one of these and it’s pretty good for the money BUT it has one major annoying issue On startup, it fades all audio to the front left speaker until I balance it out manually. It’s like it forgets the setting. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Linux have far less features and there isn't really a comparison to make. The Android ones are always better

Does it have SWC capability? If so, you should have a couple of wires labeled key1, key2 that will need to be wired to the canbus and your steering wheel control will work.

In parallel I bought, what I thought was a mounting kit for my Audi 8P (2008), but now I came to the conclusion that the measures of the Eonon differ from the Audi bracket. I’ve bought this it’s 100mm high however the gap when i take out my facia is a lot bigger. The facias online to fit double din are 113mm high so how are you supposed to fit it ?

No, you will need to fit an inline switch or a line directly from the ignition that is only live when your car is on

Good review, thank you, it's really helping me understand the choices out there, but is there an option for an Android Auto head unit with a separate screen so I can mount the screen somewhere else? I have an old VW T4 and have no room for a double-DIN unit, I don't like the ones that have the floating screen, and don't have the skills to remodel the entire console to make space for a new double-DIN. I don't need a full Android head unit, just Android Auto. Is there such an option?

Yes surprisingly. Go to the website and search through their available products, I saw one offhand that is what you're looking for. Basically a separate screen that you hang from your windshield with a suction cup. Sorry I don't have the dates, I just remembered seeing it somewhere on their site. Hope this helps

Hey! Do you have the TOY-K958 Dash Kit? If so then it should fit pretty flush in your Corolla! I by my stuff off of crutchfield and haven’t had any problems with them. The website is pretty simple to you, you’d enter in your car make and model and it will filter out items that’ll fit your car. Hope this helps. P.S. the dash kit I mentioned fits the standard 7inch double din setup, and the eonon is 7.01 inches wide and 4inches tall. So you shouldn’t have any fitment problems, or you can always go with a different headunit that falls under the 7inch touchscreen SORRY if I’m blowing you up, YT mobile shows I haven’t replied to you so if you have 3 of these messages I’m sorry

You haven't wired it up properly. More than likely switching the red and yellow cables on the main loom will resolve this

Hi Stuart, I just ordered this based on your expertise. If you connect the front and rear cameras, can you set the front camera to come on for a period of time after reversing like the kenwood and some other units do? Or do you have to manually go into the front camera on tht menu each time? Also, are both front and reverse camera inputs HD?

I have this very head unit. One problem i have is android auto does not turn my maps into dark mode for waze and maps. I have it set to automatic so it should pick up with my headlights but it does not unfortunately. I also an issue with songs will be choppy from time to time, This is with wireless android auto (only one ive used). Is anyone else having these issues or just me?

I have the same issues as u mate. First issue is the intermittent interruption when I played music via wireless android auto. Next is that the map does not appear in dark mode even when u set it to be. Third and most annoying problem is that whenever the unit is restarted during a new drive, the volume will automatically jump to 20 instead of the last volume u were at. Contacted eonon and followed their advice to update the unit software but nothing changes. Oh wait..did I mention that the wired android auto function does not work at all? I'm on the verge of smashing the x20, really.

@@elluzion. Hey mate, when I got my unit, on my wiring harness my ignition (red wire) and positive power (yellow cable) were the other way around. I think it used a different iso standard. It kept resetting all my settings. I had to swap those cables around. I think you may be having the same issue.

Apologies Stuart. I just watched your review of the Carpuride unit from about 5 months ago. Great review but that is one of the pricier units. I was wondering if you'd reviewed or had plans to review any of the cheaper units? I'm particularly interested in the ones that run Android as its not possible to install apps on the Linux based units and I was hoping to install Torque. Thanks again.

@@SaabUnleashed cheers Stuart. I see a lot of Essgoo units on Amazon for £80 or so. There are many similar speced units at up to twice this price and I'm just curious if they're any better? Not many running android for some reason so no ability to install apps like Torque. Perhaps they can keep the cost down that way. Lower spec to run Linux, cheaper licencing? I've got a 2014 Skoda Yeti and the existing radio is tied into the rear sensors, heater controls, etc and not keen on pulling it out just to get maps, Android Auto etc. One of these units on paper look ideal but not sure if I should save up £300 for the Carpuride or Road Top units or save a couple of hundred and go for an Essgoo or similar. @@robertewing2418 ultimately it would be better to replace the actual head unit if you can find one to keep your car features. A $300 Teyes or Mekede will naturally be better than the $80 Essgoo. You get what you pay for. You'll likely find multiple android units that can integrate with your car. The Carpuride is just a cool way to remove all complication. If money were no object I'd love to go for something like the T'eyes 360 camera unit but unfortunately Mrs Ewing wouldn't see the value in it 🤣. So I have to manage my expectations a bit. I get it that an £80 unit is never gonna be a match for something costing three or four times that, but I'm wondering what the sweet spot is. In my last car, a Peugeot, I put an Atoto sa102 it and I had issues with vehicle integration. So it kinda put me off pulling out the stock HU. Maybe I just didn't spend enough on it. I rewatched your video on Chinese Head Units and its made me look at them (replacement android head units) again. I'll rewatch some of your old videos on Xtrons, Atoto, etc. And maybe email some of these companies to find out the extent of their vehicle integration. Thanks Stuart.

Do the on unit buttons work within Android Auto, i.e. can I use the next track buttons to skip songs when playing Pandora via Android Auto? Or are they limited to just the units built in apps (radio, media player, etc)? Regarding your steering wheel control issue, you'll need an additional adapter (something like the ControlPro2) to convert the Data/Canbus signals to standard resistance based signals, the og9-3 used the older resistance based signals, but the newer ng9-3 does not. For the reverse camera issue, tap into the reverse switch directly on the transmission, not the signal to the light bulbs themselves.

Ok after a couple weeks if owning this unit I can give my review of it. I installed into my 2002 gmc sierra 2500hd The good Price is unbeatable for wireless android auto and got to me quickly in the USA The unit loads up really fast for me After the initial set up android auto connects flawlessly with no errors Physical buttons with customizable color to match my interior Comes with backup camera that was very easy to install Touchscreen is less frustrating than anticipated The bad Steering wheel controls are janky. They don't work 100% of the time and I really wish I had more options for what they can be programmed to Audio quality needs work for certain types of music. Sounds great with grunge but awful with classic rock No ability to customize the home screen The ugly No ability to customize wallpaper or startup logo even if uploaded to removable media and left in Music sometimes lags Can't install any apps Overall great value. But if you can spend more I urge you do it. Upgrade from my old kenwood single din but there's definitely better

You bought something incompatible, that has nothing to do with the manufacturers. Most of what you said would be resolved if you had purchased an Android head unit, which Eonon also do. Also regarding the clock, not sure why you was expecting it to be set on your car's clock. It needs to be set, and can be done automatically by connecting your phone

@ToddDunk my understanding is it's from a stock amplifier causing that issue. You need to bypass the amp and or run new lines to each of your speakers

@@headlesshaunter296 Eanon got back to me and one of their solutions worked. Get a second phone and text yours. Quickly as the text sound comes in hit the volume down button. You’ll see it set to 20+. Problem is you only have a split second to turn the volume of the notification down by maybe 1 or 2. If you keep pressing after the notification sound holding you’re just reducing normal volume. It took me like 20 texts to finally get it to the volume I needed to not hurt my ears.

No you can't add DAB, you would need to buy an Android based head unit for that. If the T6 has an aftermarket kit you can buy with CANbus decoder, this should work.

No updates will be available, but then you don’t get them on the more expensive unit either. CarPlay is an industry standard interface so your unit won’t become obsolete

You say the name wrong. Listen to their own videos. They say the name is ee-oh- ah or sometimes ee-oh-ahn. It really sounds like they stubbed their big toe when they say their brand name.

Great review! I Bought this unit and is amazing. The price unbeatable ($150 dlls in Amazon Mexico). The only problem that I have is the clock doesn´t retain settings. More than likely you have the red and yellow cables round the wrong way which will stop its memory as no constant 12v battery connection
