The problem with this is we don’t have a keeper that can play in his system. Petro and Kepa don’t have the passing range or ball playing skills to pull it off, and Sanchez is just so shaky I have no confidence in his ability to play from the back

Because Barcelona has the same principle in their club...they graduate players from B to their main team...they all understand the principle of the club....it was so easy for Pep to do well in the same principle...with Iniesta, Xavi etc who were Barcelona B graduates. This is the same tactics like recent Pochetino's tactics. Personally, I prefer 4141 to bloody 4231 ( extremely predictable).

Sarriball 4-3-3 did win us the Europa League, got us to the Carabao Cup Final, and 3rd position in the PL... Next season Lampard took over in the transfer ban, and continued Sarri's leftover 4-3-3-, which got us top4 again... So, who knows? Maresca's 4-3-3 may work for Chelsea!

@@TheCricketBaba i am talking about working efficiently not just working. Sarriball was all about ball possession, we struggled to create clear cut chances under sarri. Kante wasn’t properly used. Lampard’s formation varied.m throughout his coaching at chelsea. Kloop has dominated in all areas of the pitch with Liverpool using mostly 4-3-3. When i talked about working effectively i am taking about the achievements of kloop at Liverpool not carabao cup, europa league.
