Enya looked so shy and nervous, constantly looking down. How she clasps her hands. Your heart would go out to her on how nervous she must have been having to sing live on stage, but, the voice incredible. Huge Enya fan here.

She sat in front of me in Study at Boarding school 1978. Always beautiful.

Who would have thought that little Enya would go on to become the 8th best selling female artist of all time? She’s shifted nearly 90 MILLION albums and is one of the richest musicians in the world. Amazing to see the start of it all

I have been a fan of Clannad for several decades but I think that I need to check out more of Enya's work. The only song that I have heard by Enya so far that I have loved is 'Evening Falls' .

I was with my parents at Leo’s I’m 1980 she Enya) brought our drink to the table I was 16 and just fell in love with her in the spot. Pale blue sweatshirt jeans and kickers I’ll never forget my holiday crush.

Who knew this young 21 year old Enya would eventually achieve worldwide success and immense wealth? I wouldn't have bet on it, especially on the folk side of the music industry, but she did! I personally own four of her albums and still enjoy them today as much as the first time I heard them.

This is really Enya's song. Nobody else could sing this song the way she does. Her shyness is endearing, combined with her beautiful classical voice, is just perfection in my opinion.

i found a song from "The Free Design - I Found Love" feather in Gilmore Girl. I know these two are different, but I sense a period of time that music is singing in this fashion. a great variation of note but no extreme high pitch.

Sitting with my Mom listening to this. We used to listen to Pure moods and enya CDs on the way to school (she taught at my grade school). Enyas music has gotten us through my dads death, 9/11 , all of my HS then my time in the army.

My mom had Paint the Sky With Stars and we used to listen to it on long drives when I was very young. Years later, rediscovering Enya’s music and hearing those songs from my childhood was astounding.

Well, I never knew Enya was with Clannad. She became popular over here in Germany in 1988 with "Orinoco Flow". Was my Chrstmas wish that year. Served in the Navy for six years and somhow got hooked. We returned from Portland in the UK and somehow the magic was implemented. We were pretty much fed up by an exhausting BOST (Basic Operational Sea Training) training over there.In the 90s you simply couldn't avoid listening to her angelic voice. Up'n down the radio stations over here. What a lucky man I was ;-) Kindest regards and Merry Christmas from my side.

Oh my God she couldn't even look up...this has got to be one of the most endearing things I've ever seen. :) Edit: OK, now I noticed how she's clenching her hands...she's really white-knuckling it! :D It takes guts though to be that nervous and still go out there and sing!

One thing very few people know about Enya is that she suffers with terrible stage fright. This is why she has never done a tour. She has done a few appearances on TV and her confidence has improved over time, but not to the point where she'll feel confident enough to do a full concert tour.

Hmmm, her pitch isn't always spot on here. Clearly she's very nervous, but her singing would improve from this.

Goes to show how far strong management and the right marketing can bring out star material, for Enya but also the superlative Clannad.

I have this wonderful song on the "Fuaim" album. This girl will have a place in my heart until the day I die.

Enya was a shy 21 year old when this was recorded. She was barely into adulthood. It seems to me that Pól (the guitarist and the one doing the talking) was the true leader of the band up until he left in the late 80s.

Si ha cantado en vivo en varias ocasiones, lamentablemente los coros que ha tenido en vivo no le han ayudado mucho. Es esa la razón por la que raras veces canta en directo, debido a lo complejo que es llevar su música de estudio a un en vivo.

That is a big reason why she does not like the idea of live concerts where she does not mine to her song the not feeling comfy in front of a huge live audience. She turned down $500 million from Japan in the late 90s to do a live concert there.
