Our minds will hear anything, which is the point of the version that originally came out. There's genuine lyrics to it, you just have to take a few seconds to hear him say things like "EVERYONE LOVES YOU" when he says "Please Forgive Me" or "It Hurts Me so Much" when he says "All My Children, All My Children.". It's honestly fuckin' weird how much the shit changes.

This song is really tragic. I remember reversing it the night this album came out on FLAC and sat there in total shock. It sounds like the lyrics are from a guilty child abuser's perspective. I wonder what was bothering Jimmy when he wrote this.

samuel To me, it sounds more like the inner monologue of an abused child about to murder their abusive mother in their sleep. The first verse is how they hear their mother talking to them, saying they "had to know" what power was like, and blaming their child for unspecified grievences ("DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DO UNTO ME?"). The chorus is saying the child envies the state of the parent as they die, wishing their inevitable suicide could be as painless. The second verse is the child begging them not to fight back their death. The "save your soul/FORGIVE ME" part is them feeling the guilt for the crime, followed by the repeat of the first stanza of the chorus as they commit suicide.

something i remembered while listening to this: (while i grew up christian i know catholic guilt is a thing so i wonder if there’s similarities here) at least with christianity, you’re like demonized from the very start of existing-some people even say babies and kids who die before being baptized go to hell-and that if others hurt us, we need to forgive our abuser and beg god for forgiveness. you know that “oh if she wasn’t wearing clothes like that, she wouldn’t have been”? it’s “the victim’s fault for the sin” which is insanely fucked up. just uh. food for thought. really hope he’s better now.

I have been thinking about this for awhile and I can't get it out of my head... But I have a theory that maybe jimmy was abused by someone in his family. The part where it says "all my children please forgive me" might be coming from the perspective of what sounds like a child abuser like someone else mentioned. Not only that but I did some research and he does have siblings so that would make sense. Then the part where it says "I envy you the most when you stop breathing" could be him feeling so upset from a past experience that he wishes he could be dead just like the abuser (that died) who hurt him. I think this is one of those things that I really want to know the story behind.

Bro Strider he has an older brother named Markus, but he and Markus are on great terms. I know his mother is alive but you straight up NEVER hear about his father. I think I've heard him talk about him once and it was about his own ethnicity, whereas he talks about his mother in a respectful light, and she was on one of MSI's songs and in the music video for the same song. really makes you wonder

Yes, I was thinking that it could be his father. Does anybody even know who he is? Is he alive? Even then it could've been someone else in his family. Some people might think that this song is about himself (Jimmy) being the abuser. When you look at the older songs they wrote it does kind of make you wonder, HOWEVER, as weird as he may be I do not think he is a predator. If anything, it's a way for him to vent about what he went through while disguising it as a joke at the same time. For a lot of people, making light of their trauma is a coping mechanism.

I listened to this song for the first time today. Despite being an MSI fan for 7-ish years I never got around to listening to this song. The normal backwards version its just… Freaking gut wrenching, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. It definitely tore some tears out of me as well. It’s unsettling and emotional; the only way I can describe it. edit: grammar

I love to feel convinced. When Jimmy says "I'm a Fucking Genius" i believe him.

I love this song, it's weird yet hauntingly beautiful.

i have solved it. “dont you know what you *do unto me*” the song do unto others, on this same album, is about god screwing him over. “all my children” “does this taste like *hell*” i feel like its in the point of view of god, after do unto others, i feel like those songs link together.

This is a song about a guilty child abuser. About how an abused victim goes on to abuse others, telling the new victim what an abuser would say (“Please don’t resist, it won’t take long”, “This must be me dreaming”) but quickly he begins to envy how naïve and delicate his new victim is (“I envy you the most, what you must be feeling”). He then goes on to feel guilt the more he does what he does. (“All my children, please forgive me”). He knows what he does is sick, he feels empathy, but he can’t stop because of how he was programmed.
