We recently flew to Mexico and found there were a lot of questions and confusion surrounding Mexican entry requirements. This video will provide guidance and advice for tourists. All links are listed below.
This information is correct as of this date December 21, 2021. Check with your own government for changes or restrictions.
Requirments:
*Everyone must have a Passport that is valid for the length of your stay;
*Canadians Must show their federal proof of vaccination QR code at check in ; and
*Canadians must fill out the federal Covid 19 declaration. Print the Covid declaration and bring it with you to show at check-in.
( At this time Americans do not need to show proof of vaccination to fly.)
The three documents the Mexican government requires for entry are:
1 - Mexican visitor permit also known as the FMM card. Everyone including children must fill out the form. The form can be printed in black-and-white or colour.
2 - Mexican health assessment. Every traveller must complete this form no more than 12 hours before departure time.
3 - Customs declaration for Mexico. Each family should complete one declaration.
Useful general tips for international travel:
*Canadians should Register with Canadians Abroad.
US Citizens should register with Smart Traveller Enrollment Program. This will help your country get in touch with you or assist you in case of an emergency, natural disaster, civil unrest or a pandemic.
*Make sure your travel insurance is not affected by government travel advisories.
*Leave a copy of your itinerary and travel plans with a family member.
*If you’re travelling for an extended period of time it’s a good idea to designate one family member as someone you will contact every 2-3 days. (Just a quick text is all that is needed)
*Take photos on your phone of your passport, drivers licence and credit cards in case you lose a document.

Thx. Just returned. I printed the Health Q forms for arrival (no one collects them) so I reused it for departure. No one in Terminal 3&4 collects the Customs fo rms anymore. Take a photo on your FMM card as you may be stopped by police outside your condo/hotel for proof.

Good plan. We carry photocopies of passport as well. Originals stay in the safe since they are difficult to replace in Mexico. I just entered on 8/26/22. They did not even look at my FMM card. But they are charging American tourists $31.92 just to enter.

Hi Phil. as of Aug 18th, you no longer have to fill out the FMM card. This is a test project in Cancun airport. I have not heard anything about Americans being charged to enter. I'll keep my ears open for more info about that. Thanks for watching our video!

Hi. Going over there i a few days . But am trying to fill online and says to pay ?? ? Its true ?

There should be no service fees if you go to the government website. Service providers who go to the website for you do change a fee.
The health form is no longer required.

That is correct.The video was correct when we made it. We knew requirements would change alot during the crazy pandemic. Thanks for watching our video!

This should not cost any fees. There are web sites that charge service fees but be aware this is not required. Go to vivitax.gob.mx. This is a government website and the tax you pay is legit. Fees on top of that are questionable.
