This is absolutely incredible!!!! Who would’ve thought how many years later that a death metal band would be performed by an orchestra... A bunch of kids trying to make it and to get their music out and now it is legendary!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!

This shows how important Clandestine was , my brother who is very picky of the music he enjoys , thinks Clandestine was one of the heaviest death metal records ever. I remember reading Nick saying Clandestine was very hard to play live. I was fortunate to see Entombed twice on tour in 1991 and 1992. One for Left hand path and the Clandestine tour.

To me, this orchestral interpretation is just wonderful. Entombed death metal is great, with or without the chainsaw! 12 years ago I was sawing wood outside of my parents barn with a chainsaw. I had brought with me my bass amplifier to listen to some of my good old favourite albums along while cutting and splitting logs - Left hand path, Clandestine, and some more oldies from the beginning of the 90's. (I guess you have to be a metalhead to have such an idea...) I have to admit it: compared to Entombed's guitar tone, the actual chainsaw sounded like a toy.

I thought I’d hate it. Its a bit clunky, but I actually like it. I like how the composer brought out a lot of subtleties and nuances of the melodies. Tim Burton-esque. Even the vocals work for me. Fight me.

Entombed never matched this album. This is light years better than Left Hand Path to me. This orchestral arrangement is nice. I would have preferred them accompanying the band playing along similar to what Metallica did. I would have never expected this album to get this kind of treatment...

Jonathan Gallegos if you look at my channel on KZread you'll see the band playing Clandestine from start to finish w an Encore of Left Hand Path. But, somebody got butthurt and had the video altered. The audio, however, is still clear. It was through PledgeMusic that made the show happen so I really can't blame anyone

16 minutes in and I'm still watching the unfunny guy talk, I tried to listen though. Then I wondered while watching Living Dead for the first time, the band (including the vocals) are barely audible. What's the use of having them play guitars and growl on stage if the audience can't hear them, after that came the horrible shrieking choir, i wanted them to crumble down and fall in a pit of fire and snakes, they don't sing, they shriek like desperate sirens. On the other hand, the orchestra was beautiful and a great experience, it was enchanting.

i have always thought that metal music, especially thrash and death metal, are the worthy successors of the authors of symphonic music...metal is transposable symphonically and vice versa. no better style than this can compete. when i think of all apportunistic shits who say that metal is just noise, those same assholes who started listening to nirvana, metallica because it was fashionable a symphpnic version of celtic frost tracks will be great

I think some of the old psychedelic/progressive rock bands made it work, too - the Moody Blues, for example, played well with orchestral arrangements of their songs, and I kinda think of that sort of thing as the spiritual ancestor of "symphonic metal". Tom Warrior finally got to complete and perform a three-part classic Celtic Frost song with a live orchestra a few years ago, I liked the results: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6eXpbyRaM61gtY.html

I am talking about the concept of the album... I have played on a orchestra and on various death metal bands. Clandestine is more than the sound of the boss pedal. The drums on this album gives to the music a special push, and here, they are conspicuous by their absence... Ultimately I don't believe in this desperate experiment.
