I got my Barista Pro the Black Truffle version early this month, and it’s my first Breville espresso machine and love it very much. I have been carefully pampering it like a baby but the chrome finish of the drip trap is scratch magnet! It scratches very easily with a rag!

Thanks for that, very enjoyable easy to watch the video. We have only ever owned Nespresso pod, top end machines but after two years they seem to play up, our last machine was $900 and the same issues, so we are thinking about going down the Breville Barista path. Think from your video the Pro or touch looks good.

I know this is old but this is super helpful. Would be interesting to see the update of this with the new Impressa.

Can’t find this machine, the only one I can find is Sage! Is it the same?!?

Hey guys, I imagine you know as much as the rest of us but it can't hurt to check. Do you know whether sage has any new machines in the pipeline? Most of their machines have been out for nearly 5 years. Grinders, duel boiler, etc. Surely there has to be tweaks that they can make? Better temp control, more features - integrated scales in a duel boiler for weighing shots maybe? I don't know. TL;DR do you know whether Breville are releasing anything new anytime soon?

Great video, thanks. Possible Reasons for choosing the Infuser over the Barista Express,, You already have a grinder or want/need a grinder with the ability to and attachments for other brew methods, i..e to grind basket attachments for larger and courser grinds for french press, pour over or filter coffees baskets.

I read the oracle touch can not adjust the amount of grams and it seems to be fixed at 22/23 grams?? I see Barista video's saying it needs to be between 16-18 grams for a double shot, do i really taste the difference and would it be a reason to skip the machine? Could you also say something about the build Quality of the machine?

it is hard to adjust the amount of grinds but it can be done with some extra technical abilities. But it is one of the best machines to have a cafe quality beverage at home. 16-18g and 22-23g is not going to be significant to the taste as a lot of the time it is machine dependent. We have some at 14-15 g and get great taste. It is really a matter of what you like. Best bet is to hit a bricks and mortar store and try it out for yourself.

Any recommendations for someone wanting to upgrade from an old Starbucks Barista machine? I am eyeing the express but wonder if I should expand my search more.

The Express is a nice upgrade for the price. But I would at least go to the pro if you want to get the newest tech without too much money

So what is wrong with the Bambino? If you have a good grinder would it not work like the Barista Pro with the coil heater?

  • @ecscoffeeinc

Nothing wrong with it..just extra space and cost for a grinder. We rarely sell given the price points of the others ...but if it works for you given those things it's a good machine.

I have to say, your comments on the Bambino are a little disparaging... I know that you may be referring only to the limited Canadian market, but KZread is an international platform. The Bambino plus grinder cost allot less than any of the Barista models... Plus it allows you the option to upgrade either your machine or grinder in the future, while occupying less space than a Barista Express. It's also quite capable of producing very good coffee. Not sure where you bias comes from, but you review is tainted because of it... Your colleague was clearly embarrassed by what you were saying.

@@bluefoam by definition reviews are going to have a bias based in experience. It is a great machine but priced poorly. Since this review they have dropped the price and are planning changes to the model we are told.
