Enthalpy of Solution, Enthalpy of Hydration, Lattice Energy and Heat of Formation - Chemistry
This chemistry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into enthalpy of solution and enthalpy of hydration. It explains how to calculate the enthalpy of solution given the enthalpy of hydration and the lattice energy of an ionic compound. It also discusses how to calculate the enthalpy of solution using heat of formation values also known as enthalpy of formation.

Wow, nobody should ever fail a science exam when things can be explained so precisely.
You have saved my life COUNTLESS TIMES. You explain things very well and learn much more than in class. Thanks!
Ive watched you every other day for the past 7 months and when I say this is easily one of the most helpful videos I have seen, I truly mean it. The concepts in this were explained in my Gen chem 2 lecture yesterday extremely poorly and I felt super stressed about it because I have a quiz this Thursday, but your methods of explaining and the practice of active recall and ur precision has helped me time and time again. I am a bio major and got a 4.0 last semester and am aiming for a 4.0 this semester to, a lot of that is thanks to u so thank u for everything you do u change lives.
Thanks for the detailed, and well thought out explanation. You cleared some of the clouds of confusion I had on this topic.
This video is toooooo helpful to exist😂 Thanks so much!
Best chemistry tutor ever! Thanks a lot.
Wow! I never knew such a wonderful video existed, well explained. Thank you so much
Best way to explain anything that seems difficult, you gave me hope for my chemistry and I will be thankful to you when I will get an A in my AS level

how did it go?
wow this is so helpful. Thanks for the great explanation
Hey, I love these videos. Thank you so much. I would recommend lowering the question slightly on the screen, because whenever you pause the video to work on a problem, the KZread title drops down and obscures the text - making it difficult to work on the problem without the video running.

Thank you so much, best tutor ever you literally the best
Excellent explanation
You are my # one choice. Thank you very much.
You are simply amazing sir!!!
Thank you so so much for this video! Helped me so much!
When will I see your face? I wasn't a science student but now because of you, I'm becoming one. I get to understand everything you teach on your learning pages. Thank you.
This is so helpful. Thank you
Thanks for this video
I’ve fallen in luv w how he explains DAMN THIS TOO HELPFUL TYSM 😭❤️
Thank you very much for this wonderful video.May God bless you
This is amazing, precise tutorials,be blessed
thank you very much may GOD bless you..
Thank you! Very nice explanation.
Good understandable, Sir.
You should become a professor
great explanation
Please make a video on Schrodinger's equation (atomic structure)
This thing has been disturbing me for so long thanks to ya nw its easir very helpful
v helpfull, thanks 👍
i love this man
Hey, I wonder what softwares are you using for the videos?
Can anyone teach me how to calculate the J/mol required for the dissolution of Ammonium Chloride?
Bless this video and this channel

You r awesome

So delta H 2 and delta H 3 stand for amount of energy for dissolving Na+ in water and amount of energy for dissolving Cl- in water?
great
i thought bond-breaking was releasing energy and bonds forming was absorbing energy
I heard that lattice energy can not be measured practically, but can be estimated by calculations. What about solvation energy? Can we find values empirically?
What is heat of hydration.?
Are u saying whe you add salt to water the temperature of the water increases?
thanks a looooooooooot
If the solvation of NaCl is endothermic.. then why solvation of LiCl is exothermic? Can anyone clear my doubt??
@alexchase3661
3 жыл бұрын
I believe the explanation is: enthalpy of solution of Li+ ions is much more positive as they are smaller atoms so have a greater affinity for the delta negative oxygen atoms in the water
Actually its the salt dissolving which releases heat that melts the ice
Can someone please clear my one doubt i.e when enthalpy of hydration of the nacl is given then do we need to consider the enthalpy of hydration of each gaseous ions forms it
Don’t know how to thank you 🙏🏻

@@michaelp2624 yeah stfu
in the second step you’re not actually breaking what’s actually happening is just weakening of bonds in the water
Cool,not even in NCERT!
delta h1 is just lattice energy i'm pretty sure he got it backwards.
where’s my alevel chem peeps at?!

good
You are wrong about endothermic and exothermic reaction
You are so beautiful this is so beautiful
Nice,,but could have been better if you had gave 2 more examples..😑

Do two more examples yourself based off of this one, it shouldn't be hard at all if you understand it.
