+Ahmed Aldoori hey Ahemd, I have been thinking a lot about applying here. How competitive would you say this program is? does the high acceptance rate for ACCD hold up for this program? (love your work btw :))

I'd really, really love to apply but I'm so discouraged by reviews from students describing how expensive it is. Even with scholarship graduating with 100k debt? Scares me down to the bone. From what I've seen this is my dream school, but I don't know if it's worth that much money. EDIT: Who would've thought. Out of the 11 schools that I applied to my dream school would turn out to be the most generous. I will be able to graduate debt-free. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing when that financial aid letter came in. Art Center it is! Last Update: It's been two months since I graduated Art Center, loans all paid off, and I found an amazing job through our graduation show! It was amazing experience and if you're willing to put in the work and (most importantly) make friends and connect with people, you will be immensely rewarded. Pro tip #1 is find a group to stay up late and do your homework with lol! Trust me on this. So grateful to my Art Center professors, classmates, and the staff- especially at the enrollment and financial aid!

@Natalia -- Weighing the cost and value of education is hard to do and different for each person. It sounds like you are asking the right questions. Perhaps speaking directly with our admissions department would help you get the answers that you need. Send an email to admissions@artcenter.edu and they'll walk you through your options and scholarship opportunities.

In honest opinion (and experience), the debt that you incur is worth the talent and knowledge that you'll learn attending Art Center. I wouldn't trade my experience there for the world and I'm even thinking about attending their continuing ed. programs to learn even more (Art Center at Night)!

Update: I'll begin by saying that, this fall, I'll be starting my freshman year at Art Center. Something only possible thanks to the school's immense generosity. My financial aid package covers all of my tuition and then some without the use of loans. I'm absolutely ecstatic!!

Are you serious??? Honestly, I'd really love to apply for this school, too. I have a few years to prepare. But ACCD still looks so expensive even with scholarship. Especially since I'm from a country in South East Asia (our income is waaay below the US). Is the financial aid you got for US only though?

Oh I feel you. I'm from Mexico so you can imagine what my parents (and myself) thought when we saw that tuition. Oh no, almost all of financial aid came from Art Center's merit scholarships.

It's my dream to go to this school but I just feel like I lack so many skills! It feels like new students are already so experienced and I'm far below an amateur. I'm not sure when the deadlines are to apply either

I'd love to go, but my household is low income and I'm afraid I won't be able to attend right after high school... I really love entertainment and concept art, though.

I'd love to go here.. This is my dream school just seeing it makes me want to cry, I have such a huge passion for art.. But the school I went to just pushed me aside and messed up my grades and everything so it just seems like I'm a slacker and I was sick a lot during the time so they kicked me out and sent me to a different school... I was always denied when I wanted to take an art class so I took french which wasn't bad I liked it too. I'd honestly love love love to be here and complete my dream, but it's also very expensive so I'm just stuck in a state of over thinking. I loved the video tho

Being a concept artist is a BIG dream of mine and studying in this school is also the one that will definitely help me achieve that. Problem is I live in Africa and in one of the most underdeveloped countries to say the least😟. Even though the price for it is worth it it just won't convince my parents, then again it will require my ENTIRE family's money in order to study there let alone the living costs of living in the US(acoording to what they said)😧

what's the difference between this and illustration for art center or is illustration a term for fine art for you... video for illustration presents like it as the people paint. in my place the college kinda have it like a merge of illustration and entertainment design course, calling it "Illustration Movie & Game Art". Fine art is in a different category

  • @artcenteredu

Illustration and Fine Art are two separate departments. Fine Art is training people to create objects for display in contemporary art spaces, such as galleries and museums. Illustration is about "telling stories, conveying ideas and creating imagery for an array of commercial and social impact projects." And Entertainment Design is much more narrowly focused on "animation, video games, theme park design, film and television." Learn more at our website, www.artcenter.edu

My undergraduate school is abysmal for art. They teach you basic values, composition, and color but that's it! I learned absolutely nothing about perspective, lighting, or design. I feel like I am starting from scratch every time I attempt a piece at home even though I've been going to school for an eternity! How do I get to the skills required to be at art center and how do I afford it?
