The main reason it worked was that nobody thought they would try anything like it. It was pure luck. Worth mentioning that the special forces units that are considered to be "counter-terrorist" units existed before the Entebbe operation. I laugh at Ellinikon AIrport in Athens being lax. In 2000 the main airport in Athens had stray dogs sitting on the X ray machine. I had to spend a night with the strays between a 11pm arrival and 4am departure. I was party phase, I never slept until 4am so I was reading and chain smoking with stray dogs at my feet waiting for snacks I tossed them. They replaced the airport soon after with a modern one.

There was an amicable split between Simon and the owners of the channel. Also Biographics, these two channels never belonged to Simon, he was only the host. The original owner of the channel passed away and responsibility passed to his daughter. Dealing with that grief and the learning curve of suddenly managing two channels and figuring everything out, there were some things not being done. Simon had to protect his own interests so he left. Karl Smallwood (who used to write for a bunch of stuff Simon hosts) took over for a while, but he has kinda retired from youtube. All of this happened MONTHS ago.
