Entanglement, Space-Time Wormholes, and the Brain - John Hagelin

We present an extraordinary breakthrough from String theory that explains the “spooky action-at-a-distance” nature of quantum entanglement, and ties this long-distance phenomenon directly to space-time wormholes-tunnels through space. We also present cutting-edge evidence that consciousness originates deep within the physical realm-in quantum gravity and superstring theory (unified field theory). Some scientists (e.g., Penrose) have made the radical proposal that consciousness originates from Planck-scale mechanisms rooted in quantum gravity. We explicitly conform this hypothesis using remarkable new findings from String theory and M-theory-“Holographic Duality.” We also show how these core, Planck-scale mechanics of consciousness relate to brain-scale cognitive functioning-i.e., how Consciousness enters the brain. We explain the key difference between content-free consciousness (Samadhi) and waking consciousness (awareness of content), and provide the key to experiencing both Samadhi and permanent Samadhi-Enlightenment.
John Hagelin, Ph.D., is a world-renowned quantum physicist,
educator, public policy expert, and leading proponent of peace. Dr.
Hagelin received his A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University, and conducted pioneering research at CERN (the European Center for Particle Physics) and SLAC (the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center). His scientific contributions in the fields of electroweak unification, grand unification, super-symmetry and cosmology include some of the most cited references in the physical sciences. He is also responsible for the development of a highly successful Grand Unified Field Theory based on the Superstring. He has pioneered the use of Unified Fieldbased technologies proven to reduce crime, violence, terrorism, and war and to promote peace throughout society-technologies derived from the ancient Vedic science of consciousness. www.hagelin.org, www.davidlynchfoundation.org

    Love this man’s way of thinking and, better still, explaining. Didn’t someone once say that it’s a genius who can explain complexity in a simple way? John Hagelin is not only a genius, but unpretentious and generous with his revelations. Thanks for posting this. X

    Funny how he is the only 'Scientist' that you know of who brings QM and Spirituality together (of course there are others). You'd think that maybe, just maybe, he's a bullshitter. Tell me EvenStar: can you read? Are you able to use the WWW and read peer reviewed papers on these topics so as to understand the real science of QM? I hope so. Boy do I. Because believing in BS like this devalues the wonderful truth of meditation - which is awesome in its own way. Please, study the theories, the real theories. They are so beautiful and deserve to be understood.

    Okay, sounds wonderful. It really does. I'll even spill out a truthful mantra for you too - the both of you can resonate with it. I love meditation. I really do. I meditate everyday. It brings me to a state of mind where all I know is peace. I feel at home, at ease. That is a truly wonderful place to reside. It should be taught and studied so all people can experience their own mind in such a way. And yes, tushar sheel, and EvenStar LoveAnanda too, I 'taste' the fine foods - or whatever nonsense - just like you. I inhale the aromas of my every experience, but only the ones that my limited sensibilities to endure (anything else is just bs). Hell, I even hear the sweet sounds and see the lovely fucking light, m'kay. But you know what? In all this: the 'experience of my own nature', the 'dish' you've cooked up for me, the 'clarity of mind' you have so ..."egolessly" presented, even the woo you smear all over 'the path of true experiential discovery', has nothing to do with science. It has NOTHING, my dear uneducated sapiens, to do with QM. But, people are people, right? The mind of a man like you two is always made up it seems. It doesn't matter to me what kind of crud you wits wish to believe, because quite frankly your lack of grade school grammar shows the trolls just how demonstrably stupid you two are. Perhaps that will deter any others from your - or this wannabe PhD's - woo poop soup. Please note: The langue of science and the langue of religion/spirituality are two opposing, separate modes that are positively unequal in validity and measure. Don't believe ...read.

    Word. And let me say that my morning was made annoyed by this. Not so much anymore. A little brash? Perhaps. But when people assume they have discovered something that shatters the scientific method without any evidence to support their claim ...well, I slip slightly more towards the realm of anger and aggression. That being said, this 'physicists' is making such method shattering claims without the slightest shred of evidence, not even any math; and that angers me. When people, everyday people who just want answers, don't take the time to see through the fog I become the type who needs to ...well meditate maybe more often. Be that as it may, I would like to suggest that you read up on the many peer-reviewed papers on the topic of consciousness from ...lets say neuroscientists (Dr. Sam Harris PhD, to name one), and quantum physics from ...oh I don't know, a physicist perhaps (Dr. Lawrence Krauss PhD, to name one again). If and when this 'Scientist' in the video above wants to present his mathematical and/or experimental findings to us in the circle of peer-review, I'll be happy to have a conversation and an exchange of ideas.

    This man is telling spiritual facts known to Eastern Mystics for a long time but was kept a secret as it was bound to be misunderstood in the Dark Ages. We live in an age of exciting new scientific innovations. Some time ago, Einstein proved that matter and energy are interconvertible. Quantum physicists are exploring the subtlest of energy, Consciousness (call it by any name you want; Yogananda in "The Autobiography of Yogi" called it Lifetron) from which everything else originates and in which all finally merge.

    skyboundpilot I kinda think that "Scientific" evidence is another invention of man to keep us from the Truth that we are all one exactly equal. It's been taken by many to be a standard equivalent to proof. There have been many simultaneous UFO sightings that haven't received any Scientific explanation, leaving the most probable explanation to be that they are aliens from very advanced civilizations. Phoenix and Mexico City for instance, where many videos were taken and many thousands of people witnessed simultaneously, there are many other examples. Evidence is in the eye of the beholder and there is nothing that can be proven in our present reality. Also, why would God limit her experience to such a small group as ourselves when her potential is infinite. It's much more likely that our reality is but a single magnetic line that circles the toroidal vortex that contains all the other vortices which comprise our Universe. That's my current thinking anyway.

    Interesting. My own way of looking at this is simpler. The unified field is Perfection, which exists and creates all the Universes needed for absolute abundance of all that is good. The rest never happens because Perfection, being a wise Orchestrator of all things, relegates them to eternity future. We have consciousness of the less than perfect now only because we are freshly born. None of what we experience that is less than wholly good is retained in the transformation of what we are becoming on a different and incorruptible time plane.

    That's a great way to go about it:) but I do think simplicity is a question of subjective experience, as a person may find your analogy that you find simple, really complex - let's try and add to the resources to aid and perhaps reduce our own bias that might influence their understandings:) great perspective, sounds similar to my own;) experiences are valuable for the things it teaches right including negative ones occasionally (to practice negative behaviours/thoughts) haha :)

    If you do not understand yourself how can you understand what is around you. This is what ancient Vedics worked hard at, and this is where they evolved Language, Music, Math, Science, Astronomy, Medicine, and this was all learnt using Vedic principles. What you see is the European ideas that all these ideas were written in the Vedic text. Europe and the world thought the Earth was flat, when the Vedic books thousands of years knew the circumference of the earth the distance to the moon and sun, and that the earth rotated the sun. Gravity attributed to Newton was known as well years before Newton was born. The numbers you use are Indian Vedic, Pythagoras was not even born when Indians already knew the rules. The Vedas invented Mathematics and understanding of science and mathematics and social harmony, not to rule but to understand why we exist. Indian history and ideas were rubbished decimated by British rule, but if you understood the true Indian culture, your will see why it is the longest running civilization in the world.

    Duality seeks to witness consciousness. Non-duality exposes this ignorence. QP attests this by double slit experiment. British spy, Macaulay came to India & flabbergasted by its rich culture & education. He advised British to change the education to make Indians to feel shame of their culture to make them slaves & beggars. They sabotaged successfully and continues even today. Added to that, hypocrite Nehru, his corrupt dynasty, left liberal traitors, corrupt politicians stooge of oil & church money work over time for further degradation. Given that the process of thinking is itself MIND/TIME we are looking at our selves, expressing our selves and what our thoughts are resonating with self and other to make sense of ourselves and the world around us, in us and beyond us.Are these three phases three and zero or three dimensional or two and one or two dimensional with the one super dimension as SELF. Why ask the question of "How can the human brain access the unified field"??? This is not the right question to be asked. The brain does not access the unified field, it is just a transducer from the the non-physical to the physical for experiencing some small aspects of the field. It is the expanded Atman that is the Brahman and the contracted/aspected Brahman that is the Atman. It is a dynamic, infinite Process of e-volving and de-volving. The "inspiration" and the "expression" feedback loop with the infinitely-potentiated (omnipotent), omniscient "still-point" of "oneness"

    I just want to say that I think that faster than light travel/communication is very possible. I imagine it by using quantum entanglement. It's a very hard problem but not impossible. There are particles in the universe doing right now. Two particles, alice and bob, are separated by some amount of space. Some how they become entangled. These particles can also de-cohere by interacting with the environment. Before or during the decoherence process a 3rd particle becomes entangled with them and at decoherence, with some probability, it teleports. Voila. I thought of another way. Lets say you created to entangled photons and sent one off in some direction(lets call him bob). The first(alice) you keep around until your satisfied that bob has put enough distance between himself and alice. You now take alice and entangle her to an electron and force decoherence from your end by measuring either alice or the electron in just the right way. Using these two ways you could teleport any object across any distance at faster than the speed of light. With what i've learned from how quantum teleportation is done now, you would have to force the decoherence at bobs end if you wanted the electron to move from alice's end, which requires you to send data from alice to bob at no faster than the speed of light. With my way of doing it you just realize that this is a probabilistic event that's happening all the time. The hard part is tuning the probabilities in your favor, possibly with the use of a quantum computer(like our brain).

    what if everything will/ has / and is happen/ing in a flash. over and over and over. and over again. (strobe light effect makes movement seem slow) little by little consciousness leaves a marker, and over and over. and over again this marker meets the other markers electromagnetically conjoined. and the markers over time meet and join and invite others and Bam! Biology and biology gives rise to specimens that are electromagnetically charged , let's say" auras "..... and in-between these flashes of existence and consciousness meddling in it by evolving little conscious seeds/markers amore substantial aspect of consciousness can hold it ground in between these flashes of existence. and as the illustrator of a cartoon page gains momentum and confidence drawing seemingly identical imagery page after page after page, so too our our existence is enhanced, fuller lived . and yes the analogy does depict a final page and finished book, but the same story will continue in the next installment of the next comic book, with repetitive characters and reoccurring scenarios, eventually the medium is Changed unto digitally based criteria. again in a flash it's there and then it's gone however this process repeats, and consciousness attempts each time to fit into this flash a little bit more and the next even a little bit more than before, hence grooves and flows. and so sometime creativity is missing ng and spools of activity get nestled in and comfort and uproar live interdependently until a spark a Christ, a eureka commences the flow and groove then in all over again, to "embeddedness" because it's there and gone in a flash, but it cannot be saved. more like a signal, a signal that we are transmitting cosmically, a repetitive signal, more like a strobe, that we choose not to save and ohlord we need another Christ to spark this spool of ilnovelty into kingdom come.

    This is more an interpretation of already proven scientific theories, so it doesn't need ulterior proofs. Except for the part regarding Consciousness as equal to the Unified Field. For that part yes, it requires scientific proof, but right now no scientific theory which comes from the idea that consciousness derives from the material world has ever been proven, and there is no indication that it could, so we should at least entertain the idea that consciousness is actually fundamental, and that the material world derives from it, and not viceversa. I would point to Donald Hoffman for an interesting and mathematically rigorous theory about this.

    Consciousness is not involved in collapsing the wave function, it's an act of measurement. Could be a machine

  • @tariqxl

    The machine though not conscious is a point of perspective, to me that is all consciousness is. The human body is a biocomputer right? Very effective at dictating our actions, but it is possible for us to override biological commandments. Measuring is perceiving, if I stood opening and closing my eyes the function would repeatedly form and collapse. Its not merely the presence of a consciousness as you say, its measuring but primarily perceiving. In my opinion too much of 'ourselves' is attributed to consciousness as most is that biological imperative to act. Consciousness is merely awareness a trait that can be attributed to the machine, it is not aware of itself as we are but it is aware of what it is designed to perceive.

    How do we know that the wave function collapses when a machine measures it? How does that information get from the machine, to our conscious minds? Could the collapse be caused, not by the machine, but by the later observation of the results, because the machine is in superposition? I guess that's just another version of the deadalive cat?

    There was a time not too long ago when science was about dealing with facts and proofs no matter how far out the subject matter. The God of the Bible, Buddha, Vishnu, etc did not enter into the dicourse of the science. Faith or even belief with proof were incidental to the science. Now John Haighlin a prominent physicist is embracing eastern mysticism and practice which is fine in itself, but bringing the physics world of the quantum in that process is a stretch for me.

    John Hagelin is wrong to equate Samadhi and the meditative state. I also meditate daily but I cannot say I have reached that state where I can experience samadhi or Unity consciousness where you have the direct experience of the Self. In that realm,you are not the body, but that inner Self that connects you to others and to the Cosmos. Samadhi is the ultimate state. The Scientific data shown here are likely of people who went into deep meditation but not Samadhi. In Samadhi, you are in a kind of suspended animation. Your heart stops, you stop breathing and are kept alive only by the inner Self.

    At 3:50 he says, "...but are describing infinities of increasingly staggering size". Really?? First, by definition, infinite has no end and therefore can not be measured in "size"...and therefore can not be compared one to the next relative to size. Second, infinity is a concept, not a physical thing...much like "color" is a concept. Concepts do not relate to dimension. To make such a statement as the one quoted would be like saying, "...but are describing purples of increasingly staggering size". Third, if infinities can be "of increasingly staggering size" it would imply that they could also be of decreasing size. What, then, is the smallest infinity? Would it be essentially nothingness? Are we to now think that nothingness is infinite? If this very basic thing can be missed, how can I take seriously anything else he says?

  • @TivertonAudio

    @TivertonAudio

    9 жыл бұрын

    ***** Really? I guess we first must define the word. Webster's online dictionary defines "infinite" as: 1: extending indefinitely : endless 2: immeasurably or inconceivably great or extensive : inexhaustible 3: subject to no limitation or external determination 4a : extending beyond, lying beyond, or being greater than any preassigned finite value however large So to say, "infinite is a finite number" is simply ridiculous. That would be like saying yes is no, in is out, or war is peace. No matter how you put it, infinite and finite are opposites and one can not be the other. Your example is doing exactly what I wrote can not be done...mixing a concept with a physical thing. The measurement of 33 cm is a physical thing based on the definition of a cm compared to something that is 33 times that definition, but when stated in inches it happens that we can not state it in an exact number (because the number goes on eternally) so we are left with expressing it in conceptual terms. What you are doing is comparing a measurement (a physical thing) to the expression of a measurement in a particular format (a conceptual thing) and acting as if they are one and the same.

    ***** No, but I would agree that the representation of Pi expressed in decimal numeric value happens to go on without repeating indefinitely...so far as we know, anyway. You could call that infinitely long. But you see, it's the expression that is infinite, not Pi itself. I will reinforce that the expression is a concept by asking back to you this question...How would Pi be expressed if we had a 12 base rather than 10 based number system? Our numbering system is a concept. Just like with the concept of color (I can't hand you "blue"...only something else, say a piece of paper, that we define as blue), a number is likewise a concept of how to represent something else (I can't hand you "2"...only something else that we define as having the quantity of 2). Good try though.

  • @KipIngram

    @KipIngram

    4 жыл бұрын

    Laura, that was a good point for him to make because a lot of scientists want to completely deny that there is anything quantum mechanical at all about the brain. They don't deny that the brain is made of the usual subatomic particles and thus contains quantum activity, but they contend that the "meaningful activities" of the brain (the activities that really drive the operation of our minds) are all classical for all intents and purposes. It's this point of view that Penrose and Hammeroff take issue with - they believe that those microtubules are quantum in their operation and that they are plenty relevant to the important activities of the brain. I think any of us who want to argue in favor of free will, self awareness, and so on definitely *do* need to establish a "quantum brain" - if the brain is entirely classical then it's hard to see how it can be anything other than a machine.
