"Yestoday" (Yes-to-day) is one of those songs that you just have to look up the lyrics to. The words are very personal to Taeyong and Mark and it's all about their shortcomings, regrets and struggles and how they sacrificed their youth to become Idols and to do what they love to do. An explanation of what it's about, doesn't do it justice. The song is off NCT's Empathy album so SM kind of reworked Taeyong's original song to make it fit more of an empathetic vibe and message. The main message is still very powerful, but far less dark and self deprecating than Taeyong originally wrote the song and lyrics to be. Taeyong wrote this song when he was still a trainee, and from the very beginning his plan was to have Doyoung be the vocalist on the song, but when SM greenlighted it for the album they decided to add Mark and Lucas to it as well. I always find it slightly odd that Lucas was the one that was given the all English verse, because he isn't extremely fluent in English normally. As I think you know, Lucas is Chinese and he is a member of WayV, so his native language is Cantonese and he speaks Mandarin. However, he did a really good job with his pronunciation, so he must have practiced it quite a bit. It seems like Mark would be a more logical person to have an all English verse because he is Korean-Canadian and English is his native language, but I guess Mark actually wrote his lyrics, so the choice to use mostly Korean, must have been what he wanted.

Highly recommend checking out the lyrics to Yestoday. I think it’s one of the most meaningful and personal songs in NCT’s discography. Taeyong originally wrote this song with Doyoung’s vocals in mind. Mark later added his own verse. They give us a glimpse into their struggles, regrets, and growth.

Fun fact: Because Ten is from Thailand, they also have a Thai version of "Baby Don't Stop" -- there are live performances of Ten and Taeyong performing the Thai version, as part of their promotions for this song in Thailand. Just search KZread if you want to hear what it sounds like in Thai. As you saw, "Baby Don't Stop" is a duo performance by two of the best dancers in NCT. So this is more of a dance song than a song that is lyric heavy. However, I think this song also does a pretty good job of highlighting what great vocalists Ten and Taeyong are as well. Ten is an amazing singer and Taeyong is considered a main rapper of NCT, but he is also a great singer. However, as you can see from this video, they are both multi-talented.That is why SM chose them to be a part of this duo project. And it is also why they are both members of SuperM. The MV for "Baby Don't Stop" was filmed in the winter in Ukraine, at the same time and in the same location as the MV for NCT-U's "Boss." So that is why you might notice that "Boss" and "Baby Don't Stop" have similar looks and vibes. Yes, Ten has an amazing voice, that is why he is a lead vocalist and a center of NCT, as well as one of the best dancers in the industry. That is also why he is the NCT member, so far, with the most solo projects because SM likes to showcase his dancing and vocals. And as the leader of NCT, Taeyong has always been super multi-talented. He has that undefinable it factor, that pretty much all Kpop leaders have, that makes them extra special. Which is why SM features him so prominently in everything NCT does, as well as outside of the group. The dance practice choreography is slightly different than in the MV because it's the concert choreography, so they are a little more playful and they interact with each other a little more in the live performances than they do in the MV. Plus, the dance practice features backup dancers, where the MV is only just the two of them the whole time. In live performances, if it was just the two of them on stage the whole time, the stage would be too empty, they add backup dancers to fill out the performance more.

@@xunqi9071 I would argue that Ten is one of the centers of NCT as he is the one with the most solo performances and the one to have the solo dance breaks in several of NCT's songs. WayV is part of NCT, so that includes WayV content.

In NCT-U's "Make a Wish" (Birthday Song)" they talk about making a wish like on your birthday because wishes are often things you dream of happening. Everything NCT does has to do with their dream concept. As you saw, "Make A Wish (Birthday song)" has 7 members -- Taeyong (NCT's leader, main rapper and main dancer), Doyoung (main vocal) and Jaehyun (main vocal and visual), who are members of NCT-127; Lucas (rapper and visual) and Xiaojun (main vocal), who are members of WayV; Jaemin (lead rapper), who is a member of NCT-Dream; and Shotaro, Japanese member (main dancer), who has not been made a member of a fixed group yet.

As a non-American I was shocked when I looked into what some of the local slang terms they used ment & am disgusted. That song should burn.
