Sami is such a geniunely nice and entertaining guy, I could listen to him talk and play all day. Not to mention he's an absolute monster when he's on stage, definitely the main attraction in Ensiferum for me.

I've seen this guy live so many times now. He is an amazing bass player...and as a guitar player, we don't say that lightly. Haha! Him and the bass player from Finntroll are some of the best.
Everyone on Ensiferum are so fun. Just having silly fun and playing amazing metal
Great band...and the bass playing shines through in all the records
this man really got to me when he said he liked dark tranquility. one of the first death metal bands ive listened to and one of my favs
protect this man at all costs
Sami :Hii folks I am Sami Hinkka. Caption:hi folks I'm Sammy Hagar.
Bass is a instrument that can create so much emotion and techniques and forms of playing. It’s all about what the songs all call for. Love your playing. With love from the Bronx NY.
Shared a stage with this monster, he’s an incredible bass player!!!
One of the most wholesome interview I have ever watched
Deathbringer From The Sky is such a great song! The tapping part in the middle is crazy
Hinkka is one of my favorite bassists. His three finger playing is on another level
i listened to their last album a lot on vinyl and it sounded so good i am excited for this one

i love how he doesn't have word to describe what he feels about something, i can relate to that, most of the time i don't know how to describe the reasons or why do i like a riff of a song, it just feels good or gives me that right energy.

Have you considered the fact that might be largely because he is speaking in his second language? I mean, he speaks it brilliantly, but he is Finnish.

True, even though "clunky" is an English word. His English is better than our Finnish! :)
Nothing cooler than a dude playing casually his bass, and reminiscing about all the music he digs and enjoys playing. Feeds his soul.
Thank you Sami!!! This is a joy I am so happy to be able to watch this video ☺
Love the expressions and is happy as he describing his playing. It's great. That's what music is. To be uplifting for the spirit. So rock on! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
These kind of episodes are way better when the musician is as insightful and well speaking as this guy
Starting to think bass players are the coolest guys in every band. Thanks for the great content.

Awesomeness Sami!! This is great footage! Great taste in music back in the day! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🍺
Awesome bassist and great singer.
Bravo mon Sami!!!
I like that he includes the Funk element
I had the opportinity to see him on a live performance in San Diego. He's a show man and a great bass player. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
Man this is such a nice guy, I could sit and watch him talking and playing bass for hours! Cool video, cool guy and I'll hear some Ensiferum now.
Who would have thought that bass could be so beautiful? Pleasant and very talented bloke :)

That Dark Tranquillity album (The Gallery) is by far their best. I love it. Very excited about that new Ensiferum!

Loved It!
I first heard Ensiferium from one of my former bass players. He was really into death metal, black metal and folk metal - I don't really like many bands from those genres, but I dug these guys.
Such a nice dude :)

woow, this one was the best one so far! (and I'm not a bass player)
Had not much hopes on this guy but hey, he's cool and plays way way above the average metal guy. Very tight. And shows a lot of insight and bass culture. Very good.
I used to listen to maiden in the morning. I'm not sure what radio station it was. But I would blast it while I got ready for skill. I'm glad you mentioned maiden. I was going to laugh at you for listening to Dio. But I didn't realize you were a badass. Rock on.

His accent is the most finnish thing ever
@MosoKaiser
4 жыл бұрын
Nah, his accent's got *_nothing_* on the likes of Hydraulic Press Channel for example. :D To my ears, he doesn't seem to have much of that stereotypical Finnish accent at all. Sure, you can hear English isn't his first language, but I hear that distinct 'Finnishness' come up mostly in his pronounciation of some band names - hard to shake those off when you've been saying them a certain way from the time you first heard them, probably when growing. Plus, a totally authentic pronounciation would usually sound odd and out of place when in middle of speaking Finnish, so those tend to get "finnished" a bit.
