Magic scenery and a look into the simpler (but nicer)life in the past. Simpler against the pace and complexity of today. They also didn't have it easy by any means. Shame that not many people are aware of the sacrifices of our ancestors. I know we all have to die but in a way it's a blessing they're not here to witness what's become of our current world. Life really wasn't better in the past. Firstly, many people in the past lived in conditions of extreme poverty and lacked access to basic necessities such as clean water, sufficient food, and adequate medical care. Life expectancy was also lower, and many people died from diseases that are now easily preventable or treatable. Secondly, social and economic conditions were often oppressive and discriminatory, with limited opportunities for social mobility or education. This meant that many people were stuck in low-paying or dangerous jobs, and had limited opportunities to improve their circumstances. Thirdly, in many societies, there were high levels of violence, conflict, and war. People were often subject to the arbitrary exercise of power by those in authority, and had little recourse for redress or justice. Lastly, it is worth noting that while there were certainly positive aspects to life in the past, such as strong social ties and a sense of community, it is not necessarily accurate to idealize the past as a time of greater happiness or contentment. Life is complex and multifaceted, and it is difficult to make simple comparisons between different times and places.

@@abcdefg4570 thx for your thesis. Following statements refer mainly to western nations. There are more people homeless living in cars and under bridges than before. Takes 2people in homes to serve outgoings versus 1 before. Interest rates rising, subsidies for electricity bills people unable to pay. Businesses going broke. Health systems failing, long waiting times for care, ambulance ramping. Cancer, ADHD, asthma, Asperger's,autism figures not seen before and rising, to mention a few. Unexplained excess death numbers. Wars still happening. Youth crime and violence out of control, with slap on the wrist for offenders. Exercise of power by authorities? Haven't heard of systematic banning of renown experts and individuals finally admitted? Education? Haven't we advanced there. Boys can be girls and vice versa. Men can get pregnant. Multitude of genders. All whites are racist. Pull down statues of historic figures instead of learning from them. 100s of examples more. BTW, what's with the alphabet moniker? Real person or troll?

@@jyrkiaaltonen9298 While it is true that there are many challenges facing Western nations, it is important to avoid making sweeping generalizations and oversimplifications that may not accurately reflect the complex realities of different countries and regions. Additionally, it is important to consider that many of the issues mentioned are not unique to Western nations and are also present in other parts of the world. Furthermore, it is important to recognize that progress is being made in many areas. For example, while there may be an increase in homelessness in some areas, there are also programs and initiatives aimed at addressing this issue. Similarly, while there are concerns about the state of the health care system, many countries have made significant improvements in areas such as life expectancy, infant mortality, and access to care. Regarding education, it is important to recognize that societal norms and beliefs are constantly evolving and that there is a growing awareness of the need for inclusivity and diversity. While there may be disagreements about specific policies or approaches, it is important to engage in constructive dialogue and work towards creating a more equitable and just society for all individuals. As for the question about the alphabet moniker, I am am not a troll, rather a real human. It is important to avoid calling other names, as it is not productive in any way.

@@jyrkiaaltonen9298 Furthermore, the argument you provided contains several fallacies, including: 1. Hasty generalization fallacy: The argument makes sweeping generalizations about a wide range of complex issues, based on limited or anecdotal evidence. For example, the claim that "all whites are racist" is an overgeneralization that ignores the diversity of experiences and beliefs within the white population. 2. False dilemma fallacy: The argument presents a false dichotomy between Western nations and other parts of the world, suggesting that the issues raised are unique to Western countries and ignoring the fact that similar problems exist elsewhere. 3. Cherry picking fallacy: The argument selectively focuses on negative aspects of Western societies, while ignoring positive developments and progress in areas such as technology, science, education, and human rights. 4. Ad hominem fallacy: The argument includes a personal attack on the author of the response by questioning whether the "alphabet moniker" is a real person or a troll, rather than engaging with the substance of the argument. 5. Slippery slope fallacy: The argument suggests that social changes such as recognizing gender diversity and re-evaluating the legacies of historic figures will inevitably lead to negative outcomes, such as erasing history or promoting racism. Overall, the argument relies on emotional appeals and exaggerations rather than logical reasoning and evidence-based analysis. Please consider your argumentation.

@@abcdefg4570 thx for your correspondence. First would like to apologise for offending you although don't know your name so can hardly be called personal. It's ok to hide behind pseudonyms, as has been done since time immemorial, to provide sanctuary until the truth comes out. My piece was just sarcasm. There are some adages from the past which obviously are questionable ie, sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. My sincere apologies for we need more sensitive and sensible fellow travellers. Another saying from the past about finding a pot of gold at the end of a🌈 is a fallacy, would you not agree? On monikers, what's your thoughts on something like Academic Psychobabbler, fit for many people who don't agree with you and me? Hope that you accept my sincere apologies, for being sarcastic and you falling for it. As being ignorant me,could you give me your take on all the UFOs being reported by US media flying over their territory? Thanks in anticipation of your reply, being sure it will further my understanding, opening one's eyes to the truth. So glad to have found a soulmate. Yours truly.
