yeah same. if they don’t want to release a pattern that’s on them. I have a feeling whatever the item was, it probably wasn’t that unique that is was a big deal anyways. I’ve watched tons of videos on here of people recreating pieces made by other KZreadrs or designers..it’s really not that deep as long as you’re giving credit.

@@Charlord9001 i would say so. i assumed you meant another content creator, but if its from a celebrity then it could be from anywhere really and is fair game imo. people make recreations all the time! i wouldnt feel too bad :)

ive always been under the impression that your videos were more "crochet-with-me"-esque vlogs rather than tutorials on how to recreate other artists' work. im also pretty sure that heeseung's sweater wasn't even entirely original to begin with, because it's just a re-imagine of a certain type of patchwork sweater. the designers that are trying to say you can't recreate their work are asking for too much as crocheters imo. there have been times where i can tell how an artist crocheted something simply by looking at it, as can a lot of other crocheters, that's just the nature of the craft 🤷🏿‍♀

i think you should continue to remake things if you want to but if you're super worried about getting in trouble just don't make it a tutorial 🤷🏾‍♀ i enjoy watching your vids for your personality and seeing you reverse engineer things. i would still watch even if you didn't tell us how you did anything :)

personally i dont think there’s anything wrong with you recreating things celebrities wear so i really wouldnt trip over that. I think the only thing you could change is that when you’re using a paid pattern, dont do step by step instructions yknow? just direct people to the pattern by linking it in your bio or something. I dont think you should stress about recreating things that the idols wear tho. Unless the person who made that piece, (like for example with the heesung sweater), reached out to you then you should be good. ESPECIALLY if you’re indicating that this is a remake and not an original design ya feel me?

Yeah it’s weird that a designer would reach out to you. I hope you know you’re well within your rights to recreate & document the process. The designer willing posted their work therefore you can remake it and film the process if you want…Even if on the pattern they say you can’t do tutorials or sell said so piece you’re still allowed to show videos of you making the item please don’t stop what you’re doing

One of the ones i made from hers was basically stitch for stitch cuz it was easy to see the stitches and i had the right colours and everything so idk 🤷‍♀️ lol i think she was more concerned about ppl learning to make it from my vid and then selling them and then that hurting her business but again idk cuz i feel like ppl who are looking up how to make something and already know how to crochet probably aren’t gonna be your customers anyway

Those people who contacted you, forgot that there is no longer uniqueness in crochet, the techniques are the same, they are unreasonable to tell you what to do, in my opinion. We all copy from each other, thats the nature of the craft. To call themselves designers as well, meh. Design what? same stitches and techniques everyone knows? But that's just my opinion. Instead of telling you to stop, it would have been nice if you could continue doing what you like and just redirect subscribers to those designers.
