Excellent video Sergio especially setting the camera up before ML is installed, very important for new users. I use the Samsung Pro Plus card as it is excellent value for money from Amazon and no fakes, I speak for myself as I use Samsung SD cards without any problems on all the Crop Mood settings and works for me. Thank you for this tutorial and well done, keep the videos coming great work

Thanks Bernard, is the Samsung you use full size? Or micro SD with adapter? I want to buy one but I don't know if the micro SD works well with the EOS M

I use the micro SD card with adapter Sergio, the write speed is 130mb/s so easily fast enough for the EOS M. I am an electronic engineer and use the card for other projects as well for the fast read and write speeds it offers on small board computers, The card works on the Canon 700D really well for ML. The card has many uses for me and the Amazon prices are a bargain and no fakes@@russo-filmmaking

Hello Sergio, nice video ! Do you have or had issues with focus pixels, red dots in your footages ? I juste bought an EosM and I don't know why I have this problem...

all the eos M footages have problem with focus pixel dots, it's normal. You can easly eliminate them downloading the fix focus dots map in the MLV app (it's the best option) or using the 3X3 chroma smooth option.

Sergio, thanks for your videos. At 3:19, the option to change my ISO speed to anything but AUTO is greyed out. Why is this?

You are in auto mode. Tray this: take out your SD card. Turn on the camera in video mode. A message no card will apear. Click the info button, then in the left high corner be sure to have selected the symbol in which you see a camera with a M (manual mode). If not click on the symbol of the camera a select the one with the M. I'm sorry I forgot to explain this step in my video.

I don’t understand : do you installed crop mood or do you installed the latest nightly magic lantern version? The latest nightly version is an old version, very instable and with a lot of limitations. After the nightly version, magic lantern was enhanced by Danne’s build and after that, Bilal made the better magic lantern build which is crop mood. A few months ago Danne came back and add some futures of his build to the crop mood , making it even better. Crop Mood + Danne’s modifications is the best current build for your canon Eos M .

@@Greacher I upload the video about 6 months ago when the Crop Mood / Danne build didn’t exist. So the link in the video is to the latest Bilal Crop Mood which works perfectly . The difference is only in the menu because some modules in the Bilal/Danne version are already preloaded, there are custom modes like in the old Danne build, some new presets, and a different way to customize the buttons. You can find the link to the latest build in the eos M raw community on facebook.

Thanks!! In this specific video, for me talking to the camera, I used the EOS M with Crop Mood 5.2K anamorphic, 16:9 aspect ratio. I own two EOS M and a 700D, so I try to use them most of the time. I don't like to much the result because a did a mess with my black promist filter and a lot of light in the background, and my fault, the lens was a little dirty, with a footprint on it, and I didn't notice that. I didn't. The lens in that moment was an electronic lens and the camera recognized it automatically

In my channel there are a few video on what you can achieve with the canon eos M and Magic Lanter, take a look, they are very interesting. The more reliable sd card for magic lantern is the sundisk extreme pro, even if you have other faster cards, it's not at all certain that they work well.

Yes you can . To do that and bypass Magic Lantern, before to turn on the camera switch to photo mode with the upper camera wheel. Then when you turn on the camera, at the same time press and old the set button. When the camera will turn on you’ll be in photo mode by passing magic lantern. If you want to switch to Magic Lantern again. Turn off the camera. Switch to movie mode, and turn on the camera normally.

Sergio, I’m expecting to receive my EOS M with a manual vintage lens from Minolta soon. As I am new to ML, I’m following this video to get confidence with ML and the EOS M. One particular question I would like to ask… As I live in Spain and I M used to film with my EOS 200D in PAL-mode, I always set my frame rate to 25fps or 50fps. Do the 24fps setting will impact the 50Hz frequency…?

Con la canon EOSM lo mas común es filmar 23.98 FPS con un obturador de 1/50. Puedes cambiar los FPS o la velocidad de obturador, pero eso solo te causara problemas al momento de filmar. Yo he filmado mucho material en europa usando 23.98 FPS a 1/50 sin algún problemas, y con estos parámetros obtienes un feeling mas de película que de video estilo noticiero. Checa mis otros dos videos en el canal sobre como configurar y utilizar en la mejor forma crop mood. Te sugiero verlos completos porque hay muchos detalles importante por el correcto funcionamiento de esta version de magic lantern, que la gente se brinca en los videos. I'm used to film 14bit-12bit (depending of light conditions) in 4.8K (2.35:1 or 2.39:1) or 14 bit in 4.2K 16:9. I never look at how many MB I'm getting, and the true is that honestly I don't know and don't care: I always get continuos recording using that resolutions and aspect ratio. If I try 5.2K 14bit, it's easy that recording stop after a few seconds. 4.8K and 4.2K are my preferred crop mood options.

If you had to choose only one camera, which one would you choose: EOS M, M3 or the M100

Danne's build is the previous version of crop mood. Crop mood is the latest versión and in my opinión offers more options regarding resolutions and realtime preview. Recently Danne made some modifications to the crop mood and now you can download a crop mood Danne versión. This versión is working in progress: in these latest 10 days I was using it and it works well. The only difference with crop mood is that it could facilitate the starting settings because has the main modules already activate, and the menu under the movie tab is a little different. More over you can use continuos focus even if these cameras have their limitations. So resuming the latest versión of magic lantern is crop mood, and there is a new crop mood Danne version which is working in progress.

How many minutes of 2.5k 14bit raw with Magic Lantern Crop Mood can capture on a 256gb memory card?

Honestly I'm not sure. It's long time I don't use 2.5K. But probably you can grab around 60 min less or more

I was relucatend to switch from Danne to the Crop Mood. Time to move on.

First of all you need to be sure to use an original card, there are a lot of counterfeits around.
