Inregards to America brakes placement, no such thing. However, if you are a motorcycle rider, you may experience front brakes mounted on the right-hand side. This is because the clutch lever is on the left side, and the twist throttle is on the right-hand side helping with clutch releasing and adding throttling to propell you forward. Rear brake is usually applied by your foot. On a bicycle, "R" equals rear brakes. "R" equals the right-hand side. Right-hand brake lever equals rear brakes. Left- hand brake lever operator's front brakes. If you engage the left-hand brake lever too hard too soon, what is left is you loosing control of your steering of your front wheel or going head over heels across the handlebars. Hope this helps.
